Red Bull dominated the early races of the 2024 season, continuing the momentum from the previous year and appearing nearly invincible. However, the team’s internal power struggle erupted, splitting it into two opposing factions.

As a result, McLaren has since outpaced Red Bull, with Mercedes also outperforming them on several occasions. The internal chaos has shattered the team’s unity, but a recent ruling favoring Christian Horner may restore order within the energy drink-backed squad.

Red Bull Chief Opens Up On Conclusion Of Investigation

In March 2024, Christian Horner faced shocking accusations of sexual misconduct from a female colleague, shaking the entire Red Bull Racing (RBR) team. Horner was cleared of all charges after a comprehensive investigation by an internal committee. However, dissatisfied with the outcome, the accuser petitioned to review the investigation. This appeal has been overseen by an independent Counsel (KC) since March. Last week, the final judgment was delivered to Red Bull GmbH, the parent company of RBR, which upheld the original decision, bringing relief to Horner.

Red Bull GmbH released an official statement acknowledging the investigation into the complaint against Horner earlier in the year. The statement emphasized that a thorough inquiry had occurred, leading to the dismissal of the allegations. With this final judgment, all stages of the investigation were concluded, and the appeal’s outcome was not upheld. A spokesperson from Red Bull also stated that the team would make no further comments on the matter.

The RBR chief recently expressed his relief following the conclusion of an investigation against him. Speaking ahead of the F1 Dutch Grand Prix, Horner shared that he was glad to have the situation resolved and that it was behind him. The investigation, which had cast a shadow over his season, ended with the appeal dismissing the claims against him. Moreover, Horner emphasized that the process had been extensive, and now, with the investigation concluded, his focus is entirely on the remaining races of the season. He pointed out that his attention remains on the track, especially with the Dutch Grand Prix being a significant event at Max Verstappen’s home race.

This season has seen the Briton in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, with the investigation into alleged “inappropriate behavior” being a major distraction. Although the specifics of the investigation have remained unclear, leaks from within the Red Bull camp to certain media outlets in Austria and the Netherlands have kept the issue in the public eye. Despite this, Horner is now looking forward to moving past the controversy and concentrating on the final ten races of the season.

When Sky Sports questioned whether he would have preferred the entire situation to remain private, Christian Horner expressed relief that the matter was now behind him. He conveyed his satisfaction that the issue was resolved, allowing him to shift his focus back to Red Bull’s on-track performance.

Horner emphasized that the matter was private and that he was glad the investigation had concluded. With the process complete, his attention is now entirely directed towards the team’s efforts on the track, particularly as they continue through the rest of the season.
