Red Sox\’ Xander Bogaerts Is The Key For Yankees\’ Aaron Judge Contingency Plan, Claims MLB Insider!

The year is coming to an end soon, and Christmas is just around the corner. However, with as big of a shopping list as the Yankees have, they can not just put it in a sock and wait for Santa to come around. The team will have to go shopping for the players to fill their roasters themselves. For a week now, the American League League MVP Aaron Judge has been the main focus of the Yankees. But that does not mean the Bombers do not have eyes on other players. One of the players with whom the Yankees have been linked multiple times is Red Sox star Xander Bogaerts.

MLB Insider Claims Xander Bogaerts Will Be On The Yankees Target!

MLB teams are giving each other tough competition in the race to hire the 2022 MVP of the American League. However, at the same time, there are other players who have suitors on multiple teams. After Aaron Judge, Xander Bogaerts is one of the most desired names in the free agency.

Boston Red Sox are more than interested in getting back for future seasons. On the other hand, Xander is also on the Yankees\’ radar. In the unlikely case of the Yankees not securing Aaron Judge, their desire to sign Bogaert will be multiplied. But this does not mean that they will not pursue Bogaerts after getting Aaron Judge.

Xander Bogaerts

All-Stars players seldom switch from the Red Sox to the Yankees. The two teams have a bitter rivalry, and the line is rarely crossed. But noted sportswriter and MLB insider Buster Olney of ESPN recently asserted in a story that the Yankees had their sights set on the shortstop. While Xander Bogaerts playing for the New York Yankees is insulting to many Boston Red Sox, it is not to everyone else.

Olney highlighted that if New York doesn\’t sign Aaron Judge, Xander Bogaerts may become their top target. The Yankees may have to make some financial concessions in order to go for Xander. They will have no trouble doing so because they will have plenty of money available, even if they are unable to sign Judge.

Since 2016, Bogaerts has consistently produced for the Red Sox, producing a slash line of.295/.365/.480 and four seasons with 20 or more home runs. In four of the six Midsummer Classics that were played during that period, he was selected to the All-Star team due to his OPS, which was above.800 in six of those seven seasons. On the other hand, Trea Turner will also catch New York\’s interest because he is perhaps the finest all-around shortstop in baseball. However, Xander Bogaerts appears to fit the Yankees the best, at least according to Olney.
