Ferrari had a complete strategical disaster during the last weekend in Hungary. Charles Leclerc found himself losing the lead of the race and finishing sixth. Meanwhile, Carlos Sainz seemed to have lost the pace that he showcased during the weekend. The Scuderia were already under immense pressure after things did not go their way in France. As a result, the Italian outfit came to Hungaroring with hopes of clearing off the 82-point deficit to Red Bull in constructors\’ rankings. Moreover, Leclerc aimed to reduce the lead to Max Verstappen in the drivers\’ championship, who had a lead of 63-points.

However, a complete disaster for Ferrari and a victory for Verstappen after starting at P11 heavily hurt their championship contention for the current season. Ferrari has no one to blame except themselves for the mistakes they have made this year in terms of strategic errors, reliability concerns, and drivers\’ mistakes. Both Ferrari drivers have been robbed of important points finish despite the F1-75 being the fastest car this season due to its reliability issues.

Moreover, Leclerc crashed from the lead in France due to an error made during lap 18. Thus, Ferrari would really have to turn things around to stay in the championship battle with nine races left in the season after the summer break. It seems like the Scuderia might lose another championship win due to their mistakes this season.

Helmut Takes A Dig At Ferrari For Their Mistakes

Recently, Red Bull\’s Helmut Marko shared his view on Ferrari\’s troubles this season. The Red Bull boss claimed that most racing weekends have not been as easy and fun due to Ferrari\’s constant reliability issues. Marko reckoned that the season has rarely been fun as every weekend has cost a lot of nerves. Helmut felt it was a shame that Ferrari had made so many errors and beaten below their value. He added, \”We really feel sorry for them.\”

However, the Red Bull chief was confident that Ferrari would be back as they have such a strong car. Helmut suggested that the Italian outfit fell so far behind in the championship because they pretty much did everything wrong. Talking about Ferrari\’s misfortunes in Hungary, Marko told that first, the Italian team did not get their tyres in the right temperature window and then missed up on their pit strategy. The 79-year-old added, \”I don\’t understand why they didn\’t take used Mediums, they would have bene better.\”

As a result of Ferrari\’s disaster, they are 97 points behind Red Bull in the construction championship. And now, Leclerc will have to clear off an 80-point deficit to Max Verstappen in the drivers\’ standings. Hence, the upcoming Belgian GP in Spa could prove to be very crucial for the Scuderia.
