The Red Bull team looks under immense pressure despite being the leading team. During the recent Canada GP, RBR became the first squad to cross the 300 mark on the leaderboard. Thus, the Milton Keynes-based outfit is in a comfortable position to win the world title. However, the chasing packs are revving up the competition. As a result, despite being at the top, RBR looks vulnerable.

While Ferrari and McLaren were already troubling the world champions, Mercedes have also launched its attack. Moreover, the Silver Arrows introduced a new pair of front wings, accelerating the W15. Further, the W15 was the fastest car on the dry tyres until it shed the lead to Red Bull and McLaren. Thus, engineers are now keenly observing the technical developments of their rivals. The team is suspicious that the competitors might tamper with the FIA regulations.

Red Bull Likely To Install Flexi-Wings Setup After Rivals Escaped FIA’s Radar

Red Bull scrutinized the Silver Arrows’ current front-wing improvement. The engineers at Milton Keynes are constantly monitoring every Mercedes improvement. This is the result of the team’s recent surge in performance. Prior to the Canada Grand Prix, no Mercedes driver had finished in the top five. However, the tandem had their greatest performance of the season on a tough, rain-soaked Montreal track. As a result, every team is keeping an eye on Toto Wolff’s team, particularly archrival Red Bull. According to Formula1uno, the Milton Keynes-based team is observing ‘new front wings’ development under the direction of Paul Monaghan. Furthermore, FIA’s front-wing restrictions are tight, leaving no room for unlawful manoeuvres. As a result, when George Russell used the updated setup, it passed the FIA checkpoint.

Similarly, according to an Auto Motor Und Sports report, the energy drink-based outfit keenly observes Ferrari and McLaren. The team is suspicious of the rivals using the flexi-wings, which might appear different during the FIA investigation. Every front wing tends to flex a bit more on the racing track. Thus, it gives an extra push to the F1 car, making it slightly quicker. Consequently, Red Bull wanted to team up with Aston Martin to protest against the supposed illegal front-wings.

However, the Silverstone outfit declined, as they’re also working on a similar setup. Moreover, this is not the first time teams have played around the FIA’s loophole to innovate something unique. Ultimately, the German Publication suggested that RBR might introduce a new front wing similar to its rivals. Whether these new wings are legal or not remains uncertain. However, the drama at the F1 grid is inevitable as the top teams battle it out for the world title.

Toto Wolff Unveils Mercedes’ Path to Overcoming Future Challenges

In the latest trend within Formula 1, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team is showing significant signs of improvement. Team Principal Toto Wolff has shared insights on the team’s recent performance and future outlook, emphasizing the significance of their progress. Wolff highlighted that Mercedes has made steady, incremental gains over the past few races. This gradual improvement culminated in a particularly encouraging performance at the Canadian Grand Prix. According to the Austrian executive, the team’s efforts translated into their strongest result of the season so far in Canada, which he described as a rewarding outcome for everyone’s hard work.

However, Wolff pointed out that the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, the venue for the Canadian Grand Prix, is a unique track with specific characteristics. It features a narrow range of corner speeds and has a newly re-laid surface, making it an outlier compared to more traditional venues. This uniqueness can influence car performance in ways that may not be replicated on other tracks. Thus, the upcoming GPs would be a stern challenge for the W15 car.
