Patrick Beverley Is The New \”Big Three\” Of Lakers, Claims Skip Bayless! Takes Another Dig At Lakers

Lakers

Before the start of the summer, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook were considered to be the Big Three of the LA Lakers. However, ever since the Lakers acquired Utah Jazz point guard Patrick Beverly, many people have been speculating that he may take Westbrook\’s place on the side as both players play in the same position. Now, ESPN panelist Skip Bayless has also said that Patrick Beverley is the new member of the Lakers \’Big Three.

New Big Three For The Lakers?

When the Los Angeles Lakers acquired Patrick Beverley this offseason, there were concerns about Westbrook\’s place on the side. Many started seeing Russel as an odd fit in the Lakers\’ setup. When the 33-year-old struggled to build chemistry with LeBron James and Anthony Davis during the 2021–22 season, his worries were well-founded.

How the outspoken floor captain would complement the big 3 piqued the interest of the Lakers Nation. Beverley is undoubtedly one of the league\’s top defensive guards. But fans were worried about him because of his long-standing feud with Russell Westbrook. In their quest for their first NBA title, the two ended any feud that might have existed.

According to Patrick Beverley, Russell Westbrook is his closest friend on the Lakers\’ side. Skip Bayless thinks Beverley has pushed Westbrook out of the Lakers Big 3. Although both players seem willing to share the court this season. Bayless stated, \”The new Big 3 is sitting at the end of the bench altogether. One, two, three, LeBron, AD, Pat Bev. \”

Ever since last year, Westbrook\’s future with the team has become pretty doubtful. But head coach Darvin Ham has cleared in every press conference that he is hoping to involve Westbrook and Beverley alongside one another this season. With their energy, the two men bring both ends of the floor together and show how he sees things differently. With their efficient game, the teams will be in for a long night. This is evidenced as Patrick Beverley helped lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to the NBA playoffs for the first time since the 2017-18 season.

Beverley will attempt to be the Los Angeles Lakers\’ defensive captain this year. His presence is greatly required for a club that frequently found itself looking at one another last season due to failed defensive rotations. Fans are eager to see how the team performs in the ongoing season.
