After five games in a row full of defeat and humiliation, the Los Angeles Lakers finally tasted their third victory for the season on Sunday night. Thanks to Anthony Davis\’ heroics, LA Lakers managed to defeat Brooklyn Net 116-103 in their thirteenth game of the season. However, newly acquired point guard Patrick Beverley has accredited last night\’s win to LeBron James, despite James missing out on the game due to a groin injury. What is all that about? Keep reading to find out.

Patrick Beverley Praise LeBron James After Winning Over Nets!

Back in the summer, Los Angeles Lakers acquired point guard Patrick Beverley from Utah Jazz with lots of expectations. With some even saying at that time that he could be a potential Westbrook replacement for the Lakers. However, in the games he has played so far, Beverley has failed to make headlines for his performance.

Nevertheless, Patrick Beverley did make headlines after last night\’s game against the Nets, not for his game but for his remarks. After securing a victory over the Nets, Beverley spoke to the press in the post-match conversation. During the conversation, he praised the Lakers\’ skipper, LeBron James. Beverley gave the credit for the win to James, even though James was not playing the game himself owing to a groin injury issue.

Patrick said he had to give LeBron a lot of credit throughout the meeting. He claims that LeBron began to treat players fairly in the locker room. James\’ leadership style was lauded by Beverley, who said that while certain things may not be visible in the locker room. As per him, LeBron James had a strong presence in practice ahead of the game.

Apparently, the \’LeBron James effect\’ was seen in last night\’s games even though he himself was unable to participate. It is clear evidence of the leadership and winning attitude James brings into a side with just his sheer presence. However, just one victory will not make the Lakers\’ fan base happy, as the team is far behind on the points table after losing ten games. Kevin Durant was expecting the Lakers would be a simpler opponent to deal with without LeBron James in their rotation. But that wasn\’t the case because of Anthony Davis\’ outstanding performance.

One victory will not, however, make the Lakers\’ fan base feel any better because they are still a long way from having a squad that is considered to be competitive. In the early going of the season, Los Angeles is only 3-10. Beverley hasn\’t yet provided the team with any noteworthy contributions, though. So now, Beverley would need to do more if the squad was to climb the standings and compete for playoffs.
