Max Verstappen makes winning F1 races look like a walk in the park. Prior to Max Verstappen’s F1 debut, Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel held the record for most wins in a season. The two German drivers won 13 races in one season. But Max broke that record last year when he won 15 Grands Prix in the 2022 season. If that was domination at its best, then what would this year’s performance be called?
Who knows if the Dutch driver can finish with 20 GP wins next season? That would make him a four-time champion like Alain Prost and Sebastian Vettel. But as long as Red Bull has the fastest car, there is always a chance for Max Verstappen to break new records. In the last two seasons, no team has come close to ending Verstappen and Red Bull’s hegemony. But the Dutchman doesn’t think it will be that straightforward next season as, well.
Does Max Verstappen Have Any Doubt About Defending The Title In 2024?
Recently, Max Verstappen raced in Heineken’s Player 0.0 event in the capital of the Netherlands. He finished third in that event as the Dutch sim racer Floris Wijers won that race. Later, in an interview with SPORTbible, the Dutch sensation spoke about his aspirations in F1. The 26-year-old champion sure wants to win his fourth title next season. Moreover, Max Verstappen mentioned he wants to keep improving and stay on top of the game. But that will depend on the package that the team will come up with. Hence, it is not that “Straightforward.” But the focus is on improvement constantly. Moreover, Verstappen talked about how the drivers make the sport unique.
He said the drivers have their individual style, and they act differently around corners. As per Max, the drivers attack the corners in their own style, and they start differently as well. Moreover, the basic necessity is to adapt to the car. It is different every year. Hence, the drivers should adapt to what the car needs. For the young aspirants, Max Verstappen mentioned in the end, it is about how much one really wants to win. There are a lot of talents, but very few make it to the end. The difference is their dedication to making it to the top of the podium.
Can Red Bull’s RB20 Perform Better Than RB19 Next Season?
Thanks to Adrian Newey and Honda for coming together with the Red Bull team to build the fastest car in the grid. That’s the reason why the F1 fans could see one team and one driver winning almost every race in the last couple of seasons. Since the cost cap era began, Red Bull has reached a different level of superiority altogether. No team has been able to match the speed of Red Bull’s RB19 this year.
Albeit, Ferrari sure did win the Singaporean Grand Prix. That’s the only race the Austrian team missed to win this year. On the other hand, Red Bull driver Sergio Perez won only a couple of races in 2023, like he did the year before. Hence, the rest of the 19 races had only one name at the top of the podium. And that’s the Dutch sensation Max Verstappen.
