Draymond Green has become a franchise icon for the Golden State Warriors. He joined the team back in 2012. Then, he formed a trio with the ‘Splash Brothers.’ Eventually, this trio went on to help the Dubs win four NBA Championships in a span of eight years. They were able to build a modern-day dynasty. This trio has been the core group of the Dubs Dynasty. However, that core fell apart this offseason as Klay Thompson decided to sign a three-year deal with the Dallas Mavericks. It was shocking for not just the Dub Nation but also for every NBA fan.

Although this news was shocking, fans knew something like this would happen. They got a bad feeling right after the Warriors lost to the Sacramento Kings in the play-in tournament game. Thompson had a terrible scoring night, and the season was over for the Dubs. Fans are also afraid about Draymond Green’s future with the team. Like Thompson, Green had a terrible 2023-2024 season too. Lately, the veteran forward vowed to come back stronger next season.

Currently, Stephen Curry is busy with his preparation for the Paris Olympics with Team USA. It will be his first Olympic appearance. Perhaps he could have liked the experience even more if Draymond Green joined the national team. The veteran forward has had a successful stint with Team USA, winning two Gold medals in the Summer Games. However, Green knows he did not have a great NBA season before the Paris Olympics. No wonder why they didn’t select him. But the veteran forward seems eager to prove his worst critics wrong. In the last episode of “The Draymond Green Show,” the host told the young Orlando Magic guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope that he wants to get back to the NBA All-Defensive Team. KCP noted that they deserved to make the All-Defensive team in the 2023-2024 season.

In reply, Green said, “Somebody gotta move over. I’m gonna make it next season.” He believes next year, Jalen Suggs and him will make the All-Defensive team. The veteran forward of the Dubs added that he did not qualify to make it in the last season. But he is pretty confident as he says, “Next year, I won’t get suspended.” However, he says that somebody needs to move over. The Dub Nation will just pray that Green doesn’t make the same mistakes next season. Now, in the case of the Dubs core, only Green and Curry remain. Can they win a fifth title together?

The Veteran Forward Talks About Being On The Wrong Side Of His Age

Recently, the NBA made the 65-game rule, which made things hard for Draymond Green last year. As per the rules, to be eligible for selection to any regular season recognitions, a player has to play a minimum of 65 games. But last season, Green only played 55 games. Only if he could have avoided the back-to-back suspensions that made him miss almost 20 games.

Recently, in the podcast interview of Club 520 on YouTube, the veteran forward mentioned that he is on the wrong side of his downslide. He added, “Like I’m heading to season 13. Then, Green guessed, saying, “Perhaps I’ve two more years to go in the NBA.”
