LeBron James has an impeccable dedication to the game of basketball. Everybody knows that as it is nothing new. However, fans wonder how long the king can keep playing with his strong willpower. Everybody knows what James can do if he stays healthy. But the question is, can LeBron James play more than 60 games next season?
Last season, James broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time NBA scoring record. There are many more records that James can break if he plays for another three years. Moreover, it would really help LeBron James if he can maintain the scoring average like last season. He was averaging 27.8 points per game in the previous season. Recently, on All The Smoke podcast, former Lakers Markieff Morris praised King James in the best way possible.
Former Lakers Forward Morris Believes No Other NBA Player Has A Better Work Ethic Than LeBron James
The former Lakers forward mentioned he played with the top nine players of the league in his career. But with his experience, he can state that on and off the field, nobody works harder than LeBron James. It is not the first time somebody praised LeBron James for his work ethic. But it does speak volumes about the greatness of the all-time scoring leader. Moreover, Markieff Morris played with James for the Laker’s championship run in 2019-20.
Morris played an essential role in helping the Lakers clinch their 17th title. But he played alongside James for one and a half years. Hence, he knows what he is talking about: the great work ethic of LeBron James. Even Morris was pretty good at three-point shooting, as well as had toughness that helped the Lakers in a great deal. Moreover, LeBron James will give his all blood, sweat, and energy to win his fifth championship before he retires.
Can Injuries Become A Big Obstacle For The King Next Season?
Last season, he got injured in late February and missed several games. After returning almost a month later, King James helped the Lakers reach the Western Conference Finals. Moreover, he outperformed his teammates in the conference finals in terms of scoring. However, it was not enough to help the 17-time champions get to the NBA Finals. Later, the eventual champions, the Denver Nuggets, blew the Los Angeles Lakers away 4-0. It was a humiliating way to end the season. They didn’t stand a chance in front of the new champions and their great attacking duo of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.
Albeit, in the previous season, the Lakers established themselves as the strongest defense. But the Jokic-Murray duo tore the Lakers defense apart. It did not sit well with the all-time scoring leader. After the Game 4, King James gave hints about retirement. Not once but twice, James hinted about retiring. However, the way the LA side managed to keep the core together inspired LeBron James to postpone his plans to quit. Later, at the ESPY Awards, LeBron James mentioned even at 38, he has a lot to give to the game of basketball. Recently, King James started to train and get ready for his 21st season in the NBA. He will be 39 in the following December.
