Fans are aware that New York Yankees Giancarlo Stanton suffered from injury issues in the 2022 MLB season and wasn\’t able to perform to his potential. Therefore, many started wondering if the Yankees might try to trade away the slugger before the 2023 season starts. However, there is one important detail that people might have overlooked. Giancarlo\’s contract does not have a trade clause. If the Yankees were even able to get a deal there, he would have to approve any deal the team put forward.

The story from Chris Kirschner of The Athletic revealed a very significant tidbit from 2017 when the Marlins were dealing the defending NL MVP. According to reports, Stanton at the time claimed he would only consent to a transfer to the Astros, Dodgers, Cubs, or Yankees. The Astros is not currently making that transaction. The Dodgers, who are facing payroll issues and upcoming upgrades that will be more significant, aren\’t either. Furthermore, Stanton has no motive to approve a move to Chicago now that the Cubs have hit rock bottom.

Giancarlo Stanton, a five-time All-Star, had his debut season with the Yankees in 2018 and made 158 appearances. However, it hasn\’t attained that amount throughout the next four years. Stanton had impressive power figures in 2022. Throughout a 162-game season, his 31 home runs represent a 45.7-homer pace. His other statistics, though, were disappointing, including a career-low on-base percentage of .297.

Yankees\’ Giancarlo Stanton Posts A Flabbergasting Picture!

After the long 162-game-long 2022 MLB season, the players are now enjoying every minute of the off time they\’ve got before the preparation for the next season begins. Meanwhile, Yankees\’ slugger Giancarlo is not new to surprising fans by sharing astounding pictures on his social media. And that\’s exactly what he is doing this holiday season. The 33-year-old slugger was recently spotted on social media spending some quality time with reptiles.

Stanton may be seen in an image that has gone viral with a lizard perched on his head and a mischievous grin on his face. It goes against what most people\’s expectations are for an ex-MVP to be doing during the offseason. Stanton, though, seemed to be having a great time.

Stanton hopes that his buddy Aaron Judge signs a new contract with the Yankees after winning the MVP award, just as the former Miami Marlin was dealt to New York after winning the award. In the slugger\’s time with the Yankees, he has excelled. However, he would be 38 by that season, so it\’s possible that he would be past his prime and not be as effective offensively as he has been up to that point.
