The New York Yankees have made a lot of changes in the offseason. And they really needed it. After the 2023 season, the NY side was not in a good place psychologically. They could not qualify for the postseason. Moreover, the Bronx Bombers haven’t made the postseason for the first time since 2016. They finished fourth in the American League East. It was a terrible season because they had a lot of injuries to deal with, which messed up their campaign. Moreover, the NY side finished with an awful 82-80 record. It was their worst season in the last 30 years.

Since then, the Yankees made some significant changes. Currently, the 27-time champions look good to contend for this year’s World Series. Things changed, especially after they landed Juan Soto from the San Diego Padres. Since then, the Juan Soto and Aaron Judge duo has been making a lot of noise already. The new season is still in the spring training phase. Moreover, the offense of the NY side looks really solid. If they can stay healthy for most of the year, they can go a long way. Meanwhile, the Yankees might look to sign a potential candidate for 3B.

The Houston Astros All-Star will enter free agency if he doesn’t sign an extension. Scott Boras is Alex Bregman’s agent. Boras is trying to get the Astros All-Star the best deal. As per the New York Post, Bregman said something very similar to what Juan Soto (Another client of Boras) said about his contract situation. Moreover, Bregman said he wants to concentrate on his game and let Boras handle all that for him. He wants to help his team win and go as far as possible. Like Soto, Bregman also wants Boras to take care of his contract situation while he can focus on what he loves, playing baseball.

Later, the New York Post’s Joel Sherman suggested that the free agency of the Astros All-Star could increase the curiosity of the Yankees. Moreover, Sherman mentioned DJ LeMahieu had a pretty strong year. On the other hand, Gleyber Torres is going to hit free agency. The Yankees can switch him back to second. And that would make the NY side look for someone ideal at 3B from the market. Moreover, the New York Post’s MLB insider also mentioned that Bregman has a lot of qualities that are similar to a Yankees icon.

Joel Sherman compared the athleticism of Alex Bregman to “The Captain.” Moreover, Sherman feels Bregman can fit perfectly with the Yankees lineup. The MLB insider proceeded to say that Bregman can give a team what it needs when it needs it. Sherman believes Alex has what it takes.

He has the power, speed, defense as well as a base hit. Moreover, the insider feels Bregman is not afraid of staying cool in the big moments. Adding to that, Sherman thinks Alex is “A clutch fielder.” The MLB insider likes Bregman’s confidence and fearlessness.
