Former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher, Trevor Bauer, has been released by his former team after a controversial season. Bauer missed most of the 2022 season after MLB sent him on administrative leave owing to an off-field crisis. Moreover, MLB even imposed a 324 games ban on the pitcher that was later reduced to 194 games after an appeal. However, just days after he got reinstated, the Dodgers decided not to retain the pitcher. Hence, Trevor had to enter the free agent market.

However, after days of speculation, Trevor Bauer could not find a contract. The 32-year-old reportedly held talks with many clubs, including the Yankees and Mets, but nothing has officially come around. Hence, it looks like Trevor will have to sit the upcoming season out. Amid the crisis, a New York Yankees analyst used her Twitter platform to share her thoughts on teams unwilling to pick Trevor.

Yankees Analysts Heavily Come Down On Trevor Bauer

Trevor Bauer has been going through a rough patch for the past year. After being accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women, the pitcher was sent on administrative leave by MLB. Moreover, as the hearing prolonged, MLB deiced to extend his leave till the end of the season. Further, MLB conducted a separate investigation, during which two more women came forward against Trevor. Hence, Trevo Bauer received a ban of 324 games. However, Bauer claimed innocence and appealed. As a result, the ban was reduced to 194 games.

Trevor Bauer served his ban, but the Dodgers stayed adamant about now wanting to re-sign him. Hence, after the trade deadline ended, the pitcher entered the free-agent market. He held a talk with the Mets and Yankees. However, no club showed potential interest, and hence he still remains a free agent. Meanwhile, a New York Yankees analyst, Stacey Gotsulias, shared her sentiments toward Bauer. She wrote that no teams should consider bringing Trevor on board, considering the trouble he brings with him. Moreover, she lauded all the teams for not showing any interest in the pitcher.

“Let’s be honest; no MLB team should stay interested in Trevor Bauer,” said Stacey

Mets, Yankees Refuse To Sign Trevor

After Los Angeles Dodgers released Trevor Bauer, the pitcher held meetings with the New York Mets and New York Yankees. However, neither of the clubs considered the pitcher. The Yankee’s sentiment is clear. They do not want any trouble. Moreover, the Yanks already signed Carlos Rodon for a hefty price tag. Hence, they do not need an extra player. Looks like Trevor will have to sit this one out.

However, the off-season is yet to end. The spring training will begin in mid-February. Hence, Trevor could still try to pitch to a few clubs that potentially lack a pitcher. Before the controversy, Trevor Bauer had a 2.59 ERA in 17 starts and 137 strikeouts. Hence, he is a good pitcher with ten years of experience.
