The New York Yankees’ 2023 MLB season campaign began with a record series win streak. Up until last week, the Bombers remained the only team to have not faced a series defeat in the season so far. However, as they say, all good things come to an end. The streak broke as the Yankees went down against the mighty Toronto Blue Jays in front of the home crowd.

The wounds of the first series loss were not even healed as the New York Yankees registered another disappointing outing against the Minnesota Twins. The previous four-game series between the two stalwarts ended in a split. However, this time around, the Twins used the home advantage for good and handed the Bombers their second series loss of the season.

The New York Yankees came into the series with a 13-9 record, hoping to turn their season around against a team that has historically been a favorable matchup for them. However, they struggled from the start, losing the first two games of the series and setting themselves up for a series loss. In the previous fixture, the Bombers were unable to hold off the Twins, who scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the lead for good. With the loss, the Yankees broke a years-long winning streak against the Twins.

Apparently, the Minnesota Twins won a series against the New York Yankees for the first time in 22 years. Their last series win against the Bombers came in 2001, and since then, they have been unable to find a way to beat them. Regardless, the streak stays broken after two decades, and the Twins are beaming in joy. On the other hand, the Yankees went back with a red face as their most talked about offense failed for the nth time this season. While it’s still April, it’s time the New York-based team does some deep thinking and devises alternate plans to win.

Fans Blame Brian Cashman For The Bombers’ Current State

Meanwhile, the blame game has already begun on the internet. The disappointed Yankee fans have shifted the blame on the team’s general manager, Brian Cashman. They believe his decisions and policies are solely responsible for the Yankees’ miserable state. Cashman appeared for an interview wherein he said the team is suffering due to injury concerns. However, the GM remains assured that he will get those guys back as soon as possible.

The fans, on the other hand, did not buy it. They said it’s just Cashman’s other lame excuse. The loyal fans seem dejected over the same reasoning every year and demand a change. Some even suggested the Yankees boss quit if he is incapable of handling things back in the office. For now, all the fans can do is support and pray for the team to recover from this short slump. It’s still a long way to go in the season, and the Bombers have a reputation for bouncing back from the dead.
