NBA Experts Support Proposed Trade Swapping Lakers\’ Anthony Davis & Robert Williams From Celtics

Apparently, Anthony Davis was on the bench for the majority of the last season due to back injury concerns. And in a similar manner, he did not have a great start to the ongoing season, well. Davis was unable to perform as his injury persisted, and he was going through form. Therefore, the rumors began about the Lakers\’ potential trade involving Anthony Davis. However, AD has rediscovered himself in the last few games, consistently scoring over 25 points. Meanwhile, recently, an NBA analyst has added fuel to rumors of Anthony Davis\’ trade.

Are The Lakers Trading Anthony Davis?

Anthony Davis

Criticism from all directions was coming towards Anthony Davis, as he was unable to perform for the Lakers at the start of the season. However, AD has played some of the best basketball of his career over the past six games. The club is 5-11 this season. Therefore there has been continual discussion in the media about how to make them better.

If they want to win another championship, should they trade away their future draft selections, or should they completely rebuild from scratch? LeBron James\’ contract forbids any trades for him during this season, so this will be challenging. Therefore, trading Davis and seeing what assets might be gathered for him would be the only viable alternative. Colin Cowherd of FS1 proposed that the Lakers deal for Davis. Cowherd thinks the club might get a good price for Davis. He feels Davis peaked at 24, and the Lakers are no longer in contention for a title.

Cowherd\’s reasoning is flawed since it is too early in the season to make any snap decisions. Currently, Davis is behaving like the player the team believed they had acquired and who would eventually succeed LeBron James as the team\’s leader.

According to a trade proposal by Cowherd, the Boston Celtics would give the Lakers Robert Williams in exchange for Davis. The Lakers wouldn\’t even think about making this trade since it would be the worst in NBA history. Williams, a couple of draft picks, and perhaps a player like Jaylen Brown would all need to be traded by Boston. Since the trade deadline isn\’t until February 9th, the Lakers might want to give this proposal some thought.

In the Lakers\’ recent match against the Spurs, Anthony Davis showed great dynamics with LeBron James. Both the star scored 39 and 25 points, respectively to guide the Lakers to their seventh win of the season. It\’s possible that Brad Stevens and Pelinka may try to include other clubs in a potential transaction. Again, though, why would Boston want to make changes to a group that is obviously capable of contending for a championship as it stands right now? Therefore, it seems unlikely that Cowherd\’s trade proposal will be implemented.
