The Busch Light Clash is NASCAR\’s annual preseason exhibition event before the start of the Cup Series. The racing event was first organized in 1979 and was held each year in February at the Daytona International Speedway until 2020. The Busch Light Clash remained at Daytona track, which was 2.5 miles-long high-banked oval with four turns for 42 years in a row. However, NASCAR decided to move the 2021 race to Daytona Beach in Florida. The track has fourteen turns with a road course of 3.61 miles. However, the race was held for just one season at the race course before NASCAR moved it to the West in February 2022. 

This year, the Busch Light Clash was held at a purpose-built quarter-mile oval inside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, which is also the home of the USC Trojans football team. Although the second move in two years was opposed and criticized by a lot of people. However, many people were impressed by the show when the event finally happened in February at the new location. NASCAR Makes A Decision About 2023 Busch Light Clash\’s Venue

Back in February, NASCAR and Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum made a three-year deal for the Busch Light Clash to be held on the track. Moreover, the deals have contained options for both the 2023 and 2024 seasons. The racing body decided to hold their option for both years until last Friday. The decision about whether the Busch Light Clash will return to Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in 2023 came three months after the event in February.

The decision deadline was on May 6. However, the racing body has held it from the fans until this summer, when the 2023 Cup Series schedule will be announced. Thus, fans will eventually find out sometime this summer if the annual preseason event will return to California in 2023 or not.
