Djokovic is forced to miss out on the US open because of the travel restrictions placed in the US on unvaccinated foreign citizens. Travelers must confirm complete immunization in accordance with US vaccination regulations in order to board planes and enter the nation. Recently, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention loosened some of the Covid limitations imposed on US citizens who are not immunized. However, the guidelines for non-citizens from the previous year were not changed.

Responding to the news of Novak Djokovic pulling out from the US Open, Tournament Director Stacey Allaster gave a statement calling it \”unfortunate.\” She also stated that Djokovic is a terrific champ and how unfortunate it is that he will be absent from the 2022 US Open. She also mentioned, \”We look forward to welcoming Novak back at the 2023 US Open.\”

Djokovic previously missed the Australian Open due to his deportation and immunization status. He recently announced his exit from four important tournaments in North America for 2022, including Montreal and Cincinnati. Daniil Medvedev, the current champion, will take Djokovic\’s place as the top seed. However, Rafael Nadal will be among the favorites to win the title. He has recovered from the injury that caused him to retire from the Wimbledon semi-final.

Rafael Nadal Eyeing 23rd Major In Djokovic\’s Absence!

Nadal will begin competing for his fifth US Open title and 23rd Grand Slam trophy in New York starting the next week. Novak Djokovic, who is unwilling to get immunized, has been left out of his second major this year. And now, he will no longer stand in Rafael Nadal\’s way. Nadal entered the tournament and won in 2010, 2013, 2017, and 2019, the year of his most recent appearance, 19 years after making his professional debut. However, his body is prone to injuries.

While Nadal competes in New York, longtime rival Djokovic will stay in Europe after giving up on the possibility of a last-minute adjustment to the Covid regulation by the US government. He won the third and final of his three US Open titles in 2018. But He is now prohibited from entering the country.
