Musaigen no Phantom World Season 2: Will Kyoto Animation Renew It? Everything To Know

Musaigen no Phantom World Season 2

It’s almost been five years since the arrival of Myriad Colors Phantom World, and now the fans are eagerly waiting for Musaigen no Phantom World Season 2. The anime had a lot of potential and was one of the most promising anime. However, the fans never get to see the second season. But they are still waiting for it. So, will they ever be able to see its following installment? Here are all the latest details.

Musaigen no Phantom World, aka Myriad Colors Phantom World, is a Japanese fantasy anime series. It adapts the light novel series of the same title by Soichiro Hatano. The anime series made its debut on January 7, 2016. It ran for thirteen episodes, with the last one being aired on March 31 of the same year. The makers also released an OVA episode on October 5, 2016.

Musaigen no Phantom World Season 2: Renewed Or Canceled?

Kyoto Animation produced the inaugural season of the anime series. They are famous for developing anime shows with amazing visuals and a unique plot. This anime was also one of them. However, its plot was not on the same level. As a result, it received a mixed response from the critics.

It’s been five years, and the makers haven’t updated their fans regarding the future of the anime. They didn’t cancel the show nither did they renew it. Therefore some fans are still in the hope that Kyoto Animation might renew Musaigen no Phantom World Season 2. But currently, it seems like the studio is not interested in its sequel because of its busy schedule.

Will The Anime Ever Return?

Myriad Colors Phantom World follows the light novel series of the same name. In the debut season of the anime, there were thirteen episodes along with an extra OVA episode. And the makers have only published three volumes of the LN series, which were already used for the plot of its debut season. Therefore Musaigen no Phantom World Season 2 doesn’t have anything to adapt for its storyline. And that’s the main reason why the fans didn’t see the second season of the anime all these years.

If Kyoto Animation wants to make a second season of the series, they have to wait for Soichiro Hanato to write the plot beyond its third volume. And that is very unlikely at this moment. Since there isn’t any source material and the Kyoto Animation is also busy with several other projects. Therefore it is likely that the fans will not see its second season.
