MLB Clears Yankees And Mets Names In Aaron Judge Controversy!

After the Commissioner\’s Office conducted an investigation into the subject, MLB determined that Aaron Judge, the largest free agent available this winter, was not a victim of Collusion between the Mets and Yankees. The Mets decided not to pursue the All-Star outfielder in remembrance of their crosstown rival, according to an SNY report from earlier this month. Now, the Mets, Yankees, and MLB have not been accused of stifling the demand for Judge.

Major League Baseball looked into any illegal conversations the Yankees and Mets may have had in relation to Aaron Judge at the request of the MLB Players Association. MLB started looking into potential collusion last week. It was reported that Hal Steinbrenner, chairman of the Yankees, and Steve Cohen, owner of the Mets, had a polite relationship after a SNY.com article on Judge\’s potential landing. And do not anticipate that a prominent bidding war will change that.

The investigation requires the Mets\’ stakeholder Steve Cohen and the Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner, to submit their call, text, and email records. Any rumors that the teams were conspiring to deny Judge a fair free agency were dispelled by Commissioner Rob Manfred.

Meanwhile, the Major League Baseball authority has cleared the names of both the New York Yankees & Mets franchises. An MLB official in a statement revealed that the investigation against both clubs had been completed. The probe did not find any base for the charges of collusion. As per the MLB official, they have also conveyed the message to the MLBPA regarding the investigation.

The MLBPA has complained about three instances of collusion in the 1980s. Owners collaborated to avoid bidding wars for free agents, according to independent arbitrators. Later, a $280 million settlement between MLB and the MLBPA was reached. In 2006, after allegations of conspiracy in 2002 and 2003, the owners likewise consented to pay $12 million without making a formal acknowledgment of wrongdoing.

The players\’ association can still submit a claim for an arbitrator to consider if it thinks Judge has been mistreated. However, the MLBPA representative chose not to respond to this. The only other team outside the Yankees that has publicly expressed interest in hiring Judge is the Giants. With whom Judge was scheduled to visit on Tuesday. On the other hand, the Los Angeles Dodgers are also in the race for Aaron Judge.
