Red Bull has been the most dominant team in F1 in recent times. No other team came close to challenging them for the title. They have won back-to-back championships. Last year, they claimed the crown and ended up winning 17 races, with Max Verstappen alone winning 15. But this year, they are on the verge of breaking their own record of last year. There are still five more races remaining, but the Austrian team has already won 16 Grands Prix. Moreover, Max Verstappen has won 14 GPs already. Drivers may have changed in all these years, but what remained constant was the team principal and the advisor.
Christian Horner and Helmut Marko have been incredibly successful for the Austrian team. Their collaboration helped Red Bull gain the status of a powerhouse in F1. However, recently, there have been rumors floating around a feud between the oldest members of the Red Bull team. If it’s true, then Horner and Marko might drift apart. In the process, it might end the winning streak or even the powerhouse status of Red Bull in Formula 1. That’s the reason why Max Verstappen believes it is beneficial for the Austrian team to ensure Marko and Horner stay together in the team.
Max Verstappen Believes Horner And Marko Should Stay Together
Ahead of the race weekend at the US Grand Prix, Sky Sports F1 reported that Horner wanted Marko out of the team based on a lot of disagreements. But Helmut Marko has a contract till the end of the next season. Later, Marko told Oe24, an Austrian outlet, that he will decide when he leaves and not the Red Bull boss. Regarding the feud between Horner and Marko, Max Verstappen mentioned if either of them leaves, it would have a serious impact on his stay with the team. That’s why Max believes neither of them will leave.
And Max Verstappen also feels that their successful infrastructure must remain. Moreover, Max says everybody is staying in the team and playing their usual role. Most importantly, Verstappen feels it is essential when a team is doing well, they should keep the important people in the team. It is because of their importance to the success of the team. Moreover, the three-time champion says he does not understand why people would think differently. There has never really been a discussion about either of them leaving, says Max Verstappen.
Red Bull Enjoying Dominance Yet Again After Vettel’s Era Ended In 2013
Again, it is complete Red Bull domination. They won the constructor title as well as the driver’s championship. What’s the secret of their success? Most importantly, the car is pretty fast, thanks to the designer Adrian Newey and the engine partner Honda. Many argue that the RB19 car can be the fastest F1 car there ever has been.
But over the years, Red Bull has won six constructor championships with two special drivers, Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen. The former won the driver’s title four years in a row. Moreover, the latter won the Driver’s World Championship three years in a row at present. Vettel had won the titles from 2010 to 2013, and Verstappen started winning in 2021 and is still enjoying his hegemony on the grid.
