Lewis Hamilton-Max Verstappen

Lewis Hamilton-Max Verstappen

It can not be stressed enough that the 2022 season of Formula One has been the story of Max Verstappen\’s sheer dominance. After already securing his driver\’s world title at the Japanese Grand Prix, Verstappen scored his fourteenth win of the season by finishing first in Mexico. Along the way, Verstappen has garnered several milestones to his name. Thanks to an amazing season, Max Verstappen scored 416 points in the 2022 F1 season. With this, he broke the record previously held by Lewis Hamilton with 413 points.

Verstappen broke a record last time in Mexico after scoring the most race wins in a single season. He now has 14 victories in a single season, the most of any driver in F1 ever. Although Christian Horner, the team manager, feels that his driver hasn\’t received enough credit for his achievements this year.

It is interesting that the scoring structure for F1 has evolved significantly over time. Only those who placed in the top five received points when the competition began in 1950. A point was awarded to the driver who finished sixth in 1960. However, in 1961, the driver was awarded nine points for a victory. But the winning team was still only given eight. The current scoring system, which rewards the top 10 finishers, went into effect in 2010. The difference between the winners and runners-up would be significantly wider this time.

With the next two races likely going in his favor, Max Verstappen would likely win 16 out of the 22 in this year\’s championship. Verstappen has earned 416 points as a result of his victory in Mexico, giving him a 76.47% winning ratio. It would be amazing to set a record for the most victories in a season and win the 2022 F1 Drivers\’ Championship. But the boundary is being formed under these two extraordinary achievements by obtaining many such points.

Max Verstappen Is Not Interested In Stats!

After finishing first at the Mexican Grand Prix, Max Verstappen has claimed the record for most wins in a single Formula One season. However, the Dutch driver believes that stats and numbers do not mean much to him in the larger context.

As Verstappen has stated repeatedly during the season, numbers and records have little meaning to him. He thinks that the greatest way to succeed in a race weekend is to live in the present and give it all you\’ve got. The twice-champion of the world admitted that he had never imagined winning 14 races in a season. Max Verstappen was pleased with his new record and praised his strategy and the closing lap of the race.
