Max Verstappen Eyeing This Lewis Hamilton Record This Year! Will The Red Bull Driver Be Able To Achieve It?

Lewis Hamilton -Max Verstappen

In 2022, Max Verstappen once again defeated Lewis Hamilton and this time in all 22 races of the season. Unlike 2021, last year went very smoothly for the Red Bull star; Mercedes was never a challenge on the track for Verstappen as Lewis Hamilton remained out of the title contention in the 2022 season. The year was definitely the worst career year for Mercedes, especially for Hamilton. He broke his previous record of having a 15-winning streak.

On the other hand, Max Verstappen created new records breaking the record set by Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel. Not only by winning the most [15] GP races in a season but also by culminating the most points [454] in a season, Max Verstappen remained the superstar.

Earlier, Lewis Hamilton was the only driver to have scored 413 points in a season. Hamilton had the record of most championship wins, most Grand Prix wins along with most points culminated in a season, was GOAT for a reason. However, now his biggest rival, Max Verstappen, is coming to grab all of the set records, like that of most points scored in a season. After winning the Mexican Grand Prix of the 2022 season, Max Verstappen secured the highest number of points (454) in a season in the history of Formula One.

Max Verstappen On The Way To Replace Lewis Hamilton From The F1 GOAT Position

However, there is another record set by Lewis Hamilton, which Verstappen is on the way to breaking. The seven-time world champion has the record for driving in 48 races in a row. From the British Grand Prix of 2018 to the Bahrain Grand Prix of 2020, Hamilton continuously drove 48 Weekend races. And, apparently, Max Verstappen looks all set to break this one record too.

At present, to replace Lewis Hamilton from the GOAT position in Formula One in terms of stats, Max Verstappen needs to claim 7 championships, 103 races, and a record of 48 consecutive races. Out of which, the Red Bull superstar has already claimed two championship titles; he has won 35 races so far and has driven for 19 races in a row. With a target of 5 more championship wins and 55 race wins, Max can replace the seven-time world champion from the position of being the GOAT driver.

Max Verstappen

After performing outstandingly in the 2022 season, Max has already named himself in the list of top ten drivers of Formula One in history. If he succeeds in the finish in the points throughout the 2023 season and goes on to finish the 2024 season, he will definitely break Hamilton’s record of 48 consecutive races. For this team, Red Bull will have to help their champion by removing the car’s reliability issues.
