Max Verstappen Doesn’t Include Himself In The All-Time Greats List With Lewis Hamilton & Michael Schumacher

Lewis Hamilton Max Verstappen

Max Verstappen has already achieved so much at such a young age. He is only 25 years old. But the Dutchman has won two driver’s world championship titles and a constructor’s championship. In his tally, Max has 35 race wins and 77 podium finishes. The fast Dutchman is on the verge of winning his third world championship. If Verstappen wins the third title this year or whenever he wins the third, his name will be written alongside the greats of the game.

Like Ayrton Senna, Niki Lauda, Jackie Stewart, Nelson Piquet, and Jack Brabham all won the F1 driver’s title thrice each. But there are many fans and experts, including the greats of the past as well as the present, who count Max Verstappen among the greatest of all time. But what does the fastest man in the current Formula One Motorsport think about comparisons?

Max Verstappen Views On Comparisons

Two Seven-Time Champions

Max Verstappen has mentioned several times in the past and still feels the same way. The current double-time champion only cares about winning more races and many more championships for his Red Bull team. Verstappen has always put more emphasis on the collective goal rather than individual accomplishments. The Dutchman feels he has accomplished more than he expected at 25, so the only aim is to get the best of himself. Moreover, he is not willing to think right now about breaking the records of the ultimate champions of Formula One, Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton. The Red Bull’s leading man is still very far from the two seven-time champions. But fans hope he will get on the list of the three-time winners by the end of this year.

When asked about the rankings in terms of all-time greats, Max said, “I just want to focus on my job. According to the contract, I’m here on the Austrian team till 2028. So, my focus will always be to win as many races and titles as I can for this great racing team.” Talking about his interest in statistics, Max Verstappen mentioned, “I have never been a numbers guy. All I ever wanted was to drive the fastest car that would help me reach my destination. I am happy when I get this feeling from inside that I have given the best effort that I could. That makes me very happy. All I want is that after I call it quits, I want to look back and ask myself. ‘Hey Max, did you give your best shot?’ If the answer is ‘yes,’ I will feel complete.”

What Nico Rosberg Thinks About The Dutchman?

Max Verstappen

Despite what Max Verstappen feels about his accomplishments, many champions of the present and the yesteryears believe Max has already proved he is one of the greatest of all time. The former teammate of Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, is one such person. The champion of the 2016 season mentioned, “It is not rocket science to figure out if the Dutchman is going to be remembered as one of the greats.

At 25, his accomplishments speak for themselves. Max Verstappen has won more races sooner than the great Fernando Alonso, who had such a long career. The Dutchman is a phenomenal driver, and he will get only bigger from here to the next decade. It is just incredible to witness his greatness.”
