Los Angeles Lakers center forward Anthony Davis will undergo his first individual training session since his foot injury.

Lakers are luckily still afloat in the race to the playoffs after pulling off miraculous consecutive wins. With 18-21, they rank 12th on the Western Conference points table. Moreover, after a humiliating 2021 season, Los Angeles looked to turn things around in 2022. However, that did not happen as the team struggled in the first half. On top of that, frequent injury concerns are hurting the team even further.

Last month, the Lakers center forward Anthony Davis sustained a foot injury that ruled him out indefinitely. Moreover, the injury reportedly worsened as time progressed. AD has not taken part in any on-court activities for three weeks. And that is bad news for the struggling Lakers. However, the most recent update on Davis’s foot injury is encouraging and may bring a sigh of relief to the Lakers fans.

AD’s absence has been hurting the Lakers pretty badly. Despite LeBron James‘ substantial performance, he is left stranded without a partner at the other end. However, according to the latest report from Bleacher Reports, Anthony Davis is all set to take part in a training session behind closed doors to put his foot to the test. Furthermore, the test results will determine Davis’s return date, which is expected to be around January 20.

Bleacher Report journalist, Chris Haynes, published a report in which he stated that the Lakers team management is taking its first step forward in AD’s recovery. Anthony Davis will step on the court for the very first time in 3 weeks in an individual training session. Moreover, Davis’s foot will be put to the test, and a green signal to join the team will be given accordingly. Earlier, a media report came in that AD’s foot pain has come down subsequently. On top of that, the injury is healing a lot quicker than expected.

Lakers Head Coach Confirms AD’s Recovery Reports

Last week, a report came in that Anthony Davis was recovering well, and we might get to see him on the court sooner than expected. But no confirmation came in from the Laker’s front office. However, days later, the LA Lakers head coach, Darvin Ham, came out to confirm the recovery reports. He said Davis’s rehabilitation is encouraging and going well according to the plan. Moreover, he also affirmed that AD feels much less pain than before and responds well to treatment.

Coming back to the Lakers, they won their previous game against the Hawks last night. A collective performance from LeBron James, Dennis Schroder, and Kendrick Nunn lifted the team to their 4th consecutive win. However, despite the back-to-back wins, the team stays stationary at the 12th position on the table. Thus, to pull off a miraculous playoff berth from hereon, the Lakers need their big 4s on the court as soon as possible.
