Mahendra Singh Dhoni Joins India\’s T20 World Cup Squad For His Campaign As Mentor

Last month, BCCI announced that Mahendra Singh Dhoni would serve as a mentor for India\’s T20 World Cup squad. Now the IPL winning captain finally joined the team one week ahead of India\’s world cup campaign. Dhoni was spotted during the training session. He seemed to be having a chat with the Head Coach Ravi Shastri, fielding coach R Sridhar, and Bowling coach Bharat Arun.

BCCI also welcomed the most successful ICC tournament captain of India by sharing a tweet. Its caption reads, \”Extending a very warm welcome to the KING @msdhoni is back with #TeamIndia and in a new role!\” Mahendra Singh was the winning captain of the inaugural T20 World cup. Since then, team India is yet to lift the trophy again.

   

Mahendra Singh Dhoni recently his IPL 2021 journey by winning the trophy for the fourth time for Chennai Super Kings. Now, he will share his T20 experience with the skipper of the Indian team, Virat Kohli. So that it can help them lift the T20 world cup for the second time.

Dhoni is the only Indian captain with all three ICC trophies in his cabinet. So, it is certainly a wise decision from BCCI to call out the captain cool to help the youngsters to achieve the same milestone that he did back in 2007. Former Indian opener Virendra Sehwag also talked about MS being the mentor of the Indian cricket team for the upcoming T20 World Cup. According to him, MSD\’s presence will really help the bowlers and the young introvert players. There are several players who find it difficult to express themselves on the field.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah also revealed the Mahendra Singh Dhoni is not charging any kind of fees for his service as a mentor of team India. Mahendra Singh Dhoni will serve as a mentor only for the World cup period. Everyone knows that MSD is a great leader. Now the fans of the Indian Cricket team really think that the trio of Virat Kohli, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, and Ravi Shastri can make team India lift the trophy of the T20 World Cup for the second time.

Team India will begin its T20I World Cup journey this Sunday on October 24 against their long-time rivals Pakistan. It is one of the most-anticipated matches of this T20 World Cup. India will certainly like to begin their world cup campaign with a win.
