Lewis Hamilton shone like the sun on a cloudy afternoon in Silverstone, overtaking every racer on his way to the finish line. The seven-time world champion has alas found the missing piece, as he won a race after a 945-day wait. Lewis Hamilton, taunting the laws of physics, put up a racing masterclass in front of his home crowd as the grandstands erupted with cheers.

It all happened during the British GP, as their local hero achieved an astonishing victory after fighting it out for several months. However, the Ferrari-bound driver was quick to celebrate the victory with the Brackley factory members, as they were the unsung heroes. Mercedes Head of Communications has illustrated Hamilton’s Brackley visit after an emphatic victory.

Mercedes Insider Describes Hamilton’s Brackley Visit As Emotional, Authentic, & ‘Honest’

The Mercedes team and its legendary driver, Lewis Hamilton, were amid a nightmare run. The iconic duo, once famous for their on-track dominance, struggled to win a single race. The tension was building up, and the problem-ridden W15 was seemingly sluggish. Thus, Lewis Hamilton decided to part ways with the Silver Arrows, signing a contract with Ferrari. Although the Briton was ready to leave for the Prancing Horses, he had this one last wish of winning in his iconic black-silver racing suit. However, it felt like a distant dream with a lackluster car and out-of-form drivers. Perhaps the technical crew had other plans as they kept working day and night despite a string of failures.

Finally, before its home crowd, everything came together as Hamilton lifted the Silvertone GP title, sobbing with tears of joy. The 39-year-old racer, elated with joy, hugged his dad, Anthony Hamilton, as the pent-up tears rolled out of his eyes. However, the seven-time world champion took time to meet the Brackley factory team members. The Mercedes Communication Head, Bradley Lord, described the entire visit. Lord explained in the Fast And Furious podcast that Hamilton didn’t get a chance to interact with everyone due to the tight schedule. Further, talking about Hamilton’s Ferrari decision, Lord highlighted the Briton’s wish not to share any video or anything he said. However, according to him, the Briton was vulnerable, honest, and genuine throughout the interaction. It was the first time Lord saw Hamilton so emotional in the last 12 years.
