With the conclusion of the rain-interrupted race and a controversial penalty to Ferrari\’s Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen finally became the F1 world champion for the second consecutive time. On the other hand, Lewis Hamilton, one of the all-time greats in F1, has had one of his worst seasons ever. With just four races remaining in the championship, Hamilton is still searching for his first win. But as the winner of the 2022 F1 driver\’s championship has already been decided, F1 fans have already eyeing the next year and what it would bring for Lewis Hamilton. 

Lewis Hamilton Talks About Mercedes\’ Chances in 2023!

The year 2022 was a forgetful campaign for Mercedes. The German car manufacturer has dealt with drivers\’ poor form amid other issues like proposing. With just four races remaining, Mercedes is not in competition for either of the driver\’s or constructor\’s championships. They will have some looking back and self-contemplation to do as the season reach its conclusion. However, if there is one thing fans expect from a champion team like Mercedes, it is a strong comeback. 

   

Meanwhile, recently, Mercedes\’ star driver Lewis Hamilton also talked about the team\’s chances in next year\’s Formula One Championship. Even though things might have gone south this season, Hamilton believes that Mercedes will make a strong comeback in the next season. He said that the team would have a better chance in the upcoming season. 

During his conversation with the Sky network, Lewis Hamilton revealed that he feels that the Silver Arrows will come up with a better vehicle next season. He said that they had identified the mistakes that had caused them to be this year\’s champion. And Mercedes will certainly amend those heading into the 2023 F1 championship. 

Lewis mentioned, \”I have no doubts Mercedes will have a better car next year. Whether we rectify every issue that we faced this year, the team will find out when we get there.\” During the conversation, he also extended his congratulatory wish to the Red Bull driver for successfully retaining his world championship. 

The seven-time world champion\’s season-long struggles were on display in today\’s race as he repeatedly missed opportunities to pass Esteban Ocon. The Alpine driver put up a valiant fight. And by the look at the race, it was very obvious that the Silver Arrows lacked the straight-line speed. Ocon was pushed to the limit by Lewis Hamilton. However, the Frenchman maintained his composure and finished an amazing P4 as he returned home. The titanic struggle between Hamilton and Ocon was so compelling for the Mercedes driver that he wanted to keep going.
