Formula One is truly one of the most exciting games in the sports industry at the moment. The game’s dynamic nature and competitive spirit keep people on their toes during the weekends. However, the race becomes more interesting when there is more than one flag involved during the course of the race. Australian race last weekend was one such incident where more than one red flag was shown in the main race. It was for the first time that such an incident took place in F1. Although it brought a lot of trouble to drivers, the audience enjoyed every bit of the drama.
Apart from the entertainment bit, it is quite clear that Red Bull means business this year. They have shown tremendous dominance this year, reaching the top of the table by a huge margin. After the race, even Mercedes rival Lewis Hamilton had some good things to say about Red Bull this year. The seven-time champion came second, chasing Max Verstappen for the first-place finish. But Red Bull is just on another level for Hamilton once again this year. Keep reading to know what did Hamilton say about Red Bull’s fast car.
Lewis Hamilton Accepts Red Bull Is Too Fast
Sometimes it might sound unfair that one driver flies past another because his car is better. But in F1, nothing is unfair because everyone is competing, from racers to engineers to mechanics. This is what makes Formula One so interesting, as there are so many factors that decide the winner. This creates immense drama and entertainment for the viewers to watch every race addictively.
Max Verstappen passed Lewis Hamilton with such ease that it left the latter wondering how fast Red Bull is. In the post-race interview, he told everyone that he was left in awe when Max gained 10 seconds ahead of him. It happened when the race restarted, and Max just left Hamilton in the dust. He said that it is a message for every team to dig deeper if they want to catch on to Red Bull. His exact words were, “We’ve got a lot of work to do clearly to catch the Red Bull because they came flying past and disappeared.” Moreover, Hamilton had fun competing with Fernando Alonso, as Max was just too quick to catch.
Hamilton Is Hopeful That Mercedes Can Chase Red Bull Someday
Meanwhile, the seven-time champion is optimistic about his position in the season. The Mercedes driver is happy about his current place but also has high hopes for the future as well. Although he is struggling with the car at the moment, he realizes it’s a long-term project. He is even happy to compete with Aston Martin at the moment as it brings back his memory of 2006.
Lewis Hamilton said, “We’re clearly down on end-of-straight pace compared to the Red Bulls, for us to be up here fighting with Aston is just amazing at this point in the season”. Before heading off the mic, he thanked the factory workers, saying the journey would be tough, not impossible.
