Draymond Green Supports Russell Westbrook!
There have been instances in the past when Draymond Green publicly showed his support for Lakers star Russell Westbrook. Once again, Green has defended the 2016-17 NBA MVP amid the rumors of him being potentially traded by the Lakers.
Recently, the four-time NBA champion hosted his podcast called The Draymond Green show ahead of the 2022 NBA season. During the podcast, Green tried to shut down all the rumors and criticism directed at Westbrook. While talking about Russell, Green stated, \”Stop all the Russell Westbrook talk. That man is a Laker.\” He continued that the Lakers are trying to make it work, and according to him, it certainly can work.
Draymond believes that the new addition of Patrick Beverley to the Lakers will only strengthen their core and help their cause. Therefore, the chances of the Lakers doing well with Russell in the squad are high. He thinks the team will win more games this season than they did last time.
Meanwhile, during his appearance in another podcast, CHECC-N-IN Green addressed the issues of the fit between the Big Three of the Lakers. Draymond believes that LeBron James might be the one pushing Westbrook\’s trade. Green pointed out that he is unable to understand why only Russell Westbrook was being blamed for the Lakers\’ troubles last season.

In his first Los Angeles Lakers preseason game for the 2022–23 season, Russell Westbrook performed admirably. Given that only a few hours prior, information of his nearly completed trade to the Indiana Pacers the previous week had leaked, he did well.
After the game, Westbrook, 34, spoke about playing despite the commotion in the construction industry. He claimed he had been exposed to the self-serving tales. For him, it is nothing new. Westbrook stated, \”I\’m going to continue to keep my head down and focus on competing. And everything else will take care of itself.\”
