LeBron James has had a very tough season so far, physically. It is not surprising as he is 38, and at such an age, it can take a toll on anybody’s body. Especially for an athlete, it is a very delicate stage. They need to take proper care of their body so that they can be available for as many games as possible. Despite turning 38, the King had been performing exceedingly well this season. Even when Anthony Davis was missing as many as twenty games, it was LeBron James who carried the team on his shoulders until he sustained a tendon injury on his right foot against the Mavericks. It took him almost a month to return to the lineup.

On his return, LeBron James scored 19 points, better than AD’s 15 against the Bulls on a losing cause. If the Lakers make the postseason this time, they will need the King to show them the way to the championship. But the rising concern is that even if LeBron James returned after missing 13 games, there is a chance that he might have to undergo foot surgery. But the Lakers need him now more than ever.

LeBron James Says He Is Fit To Play Now But May Need Surgery In The Off-Season

As LeBron James himself announced, “I don’t need surgery now. But I may need it after the season. And when the next season commences, I will be fit and fine. I’ll be ready.” Therefore it means that his foot is not totally healthy. If James stays in the lineup for the rest of the season, there is a chance that he won’t stay completely fit. But as the saying goes, “a wounded tiger is even more dangerous.” Therefore, his fans will hope that LeBron James can lead the team to another championship glory.

The Lakers team has gone through a very difficult phase since 2020. They are clearly looking for redemption. This current season especially has been an injury fest in the roster of the Lakers. After the February trade, a lot of quality players entered and got injured very soon. Like D’Angelo Russell missed several games due to a sprained ankle. Then, Mo Bamba would have been a quality part of the lineup if he had not been injured for so long. It looks like he will miss the rest of the season.

The Young Lakers Got The Rhythm Back

No wonder why it has been so tough for the Lakers to maintain a streak and their position on the table. But after AD and Russell returned, the squad found back their rhythm and gradually started climbing up to the top. They were the 11th seed of the Western Conference. It was when LeBron James got the injury. Later, he was out for a month.

However, AD, Russell, and Austin Reaves played the main role. But Malik Beasley, Dennis Schroder, Jarred Vanderbilt, Wenyen Gabriel, and Rui Hachimura played their role exceedingly well. The Lakers are currently holding the 9th position with a 37-38 ratio. The Western Conference is shifting its seeds with every game. Currently, the Warriors are out of the top six as the Timberwolves climbed up to the sixth seed. The Warriors are 7th at present. The Lakers are a game behind the Warriors. Anything can happen in the remaining regular season games.
