LeBron James Feels He Is Smarter At 38 Than What He Was At 28, But Can’t Do It Anymore! Why?

LeBron James

LeBron James has proved time after time age is no reason for not giving his best every game as fans expect him to. Even after completing two decades at the top of his game, there is no stopping him. The current season is King James’s 20th NBA season. Albeit, the last two seasons, including the current one, are not going as well as he wanted for his team. The Lakers are not looking like anywhere near title contention.

There is a good possibility that the Lakers may not qualify for the playoffs. They may not even qualify for the play-in tournaments. The Los Angeles team is lingering at the bottom of the Western Conference table. The team is facing issues with consistency despite Lebron James’ all-around efforts at every game. They know they badly need a winning streak. But every time when the opportunities present themselves, the team is not able to hold onto them. The Lakers are currently 25-29.

LeBron James Share What He Is Feeling With Ongoing Record Scenario

Despite the poor performance of the group as a whole, the Lakers star, LeBron James, is still performing better than anyone in the tournament. In his twentieth NBA season, the King is averaging 30.0, 8.5, and 7.1 points, rebounds, and assists, respectively. With this incredible average, the King is rising higher on the list of the top scorers and top assists of all time.

Now the question is, can there be any more “complete package” in NBA history? LeBron James had an incredible journey. He hailed from the US state of Ohio and started playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers. In a recent interview with Michael Wilbon of ESPN, James shared the story that he had a lot of goals he wanted to achieve when he started. But becoming the top scorer of all time never came across his mind.

Why Does James Feel Sharper Than Ever?

LeBron James said that he wanted to get better at passing, which he sure did get better at. Hence his name is at no. 4 on the top assist list. But the first thing he wanted to be was the NBA Rookie of the Year. He won that award in 2004. To Wilbon James mentioned, “there are times especially after playing few games in a row when I feel like, Oh, I don’t think I can do it anymore. You know. But when I get on to the court the next time, I’m faster and jumping higher than these 21 and 23-year-olds. Not just physically, but most importantly, I’m in a perfect mental space at 38. I did not feel this good even when I was participating in the 10th or even 15th NBA season of my career.”

As time went on, very few titles were left for him to accomplish. King James is a four-time MVP and won four MVP awards in the final. Not only is he on the verge of breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time scoring record. But also, he has tied with him as the most number of times named NBA All-Star (19). Currently, LeBron James is only 36 points away from breaking the coveted forty years old all-time scoring record of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387 points). After the last game against New Orleans, Pelicans, James is waiting with 38,352 points. The next match against the Oklahoma City Thunder will probably have the long-awaited epoch-making incident.
