Lebron James entered the court after a gap of one game he missed due to a sore ankle. Meanwhile, the match was vital for the Lakers as they had already registered an embarrassing loss in their last game against the Nuggets. Hence, James’s return boosted the team’s odds of winning. Little did they know that the night would witness a tragic end.

Lebron James missed multiple opportunities to hit three-pointers. Before the game, James was scoring at an average of 29.5% from the 3-point land, which is just 0.5% more than his all-time career low. However, after the terrible game, his average has now dropped to 28.5, which makes it his all-time career low. Ironically, LeBron had his best career 3-point average with the Lakers just last season. Furthermore, Legion Hoops reported on their Twitter account that LeBron James has been shooting from the three at just 8.7% since the new year began.

Lakers Cry Foul Over A No-Call Decision By The Match Officials

The LA Lakers game cannot end without some spice and drama. Naturally, drama unfolded at the end of the fourth quarter. During the final seconds of the fourth quarter, Troy Brown Jr. attempted a shot from 3-point land, which was blocked by Tim Hardaway Jr, pushing the game into overtime. However, Brown and his teammates appealed for a foul, alleging that Tim hit Brown’s hand, which resulted in his fall. However, the official did not pay heed and flagged a no-call.

The Lakers, including LeBron James, were taking none of it as they protested against the call stating it was a clear foul from Tim’s end. But, the authorities did not budge, and the no-call decision stayed. Meanwhile, James was fuming in the Laker’s locker room. He yelled in the locker room, saying that it was a clear foul and the officials should have called it. Furthermore, the frustration of the club showed in overtime as they failed to keep up and eventually lost the game. The bottom line, the loss is going to hurt the Lakers big time, who are in a persistent quest to reach the playoffs.
