Lakers Seeking Pistons\’ Bojan Bogdanovic To Replace Russell Westbrook?

Lakers

The 2022 NBA season is going on in full swing. But it seems like the Lakers have not been able to get the momentum to keep them going. After the disappointing last season, 2022 has not been any better for the team in purple and gold. The Lakers have lost 0 out of their first thirteen games so far.

Therefore, it is not exactly a surprise that the team is looking to turn things around by making some shakeups in their squad. As Russell Westbrook was struggling at the start of the season, there were rumors of the Lakers potentially trading him. Lately, Westbrook has found his groove and has turned out to be one of the most important players over the past few games. However, the buzz about the Lakers trading Russell for Bojan Bogdanovic has resurfaced.

LA Lakers Intrested In Bojan Bogdanovic?

Bojan Bogdanovic

Bojan Bogdanovic has long been connected to the Los Angeles Lakers. But no deal has really been made. Prior to Bogdanovic joining the Pistons in Detroit, LA was allegedly considering a move. According to recent sources, the Lakers may reconsider their interest in Bogdanovic in the event that a Russell Westbrook trade turns up. Financially speaking, the Lakers would benefit from a trade involving Westbrook and Bogdanovic.

Along with Westbrook, the Lakers would also have to give up a future first-round selection. However, the transaction would allow LA to bolster its roster around LeBron James and Anthony Davis. In addition, after attempting unsuccessfully for several months, they would ultimately be able to move Russell Westbrook.

The Jazz reportedly made LA an offer that seemed quite favorable. But the Los Angeles Lakers reportedly had real discussions with the Jazz and rejected their offer. Bogdanovic was ultimately traded to the Detroit Pistons, a team in last place.

For Detroit, Bogdanovic is unquestionably doing well. He is making 6.7 tries from outside the arc, shooting 50% overall, and scoring 20.1 points on average per game. With his 6-foot-7 height and 225-pound weight, he would significantly improve the Lakers\’ appalling 3-point shooting.

Despite his weaknesses on defense, he might fill their frail power-forward role. The Pistons have the contracts necessary to make a trade happen, but it can be difficult to come up with a sensible move. Bogdanovic\’s combination with Nerlens Noel and Alec Burks makes financial sense.

Furthermore, most of the Lakers\’ problems this season have been caused by their weak offense and lack of shooting ability. In this case, Bojan could prove to be a valuable addition to th the team. But will the team eventually move ahead with the player? Only time will tell. Till then, stay tuned to Sports News Internation for all the latest updates about your favorite sports.
