LeBron James, who recently turned 38, completed 20 years in NBA. In his two-decades-long career, James has surpassed as well as set multiple records under his name. A few weeks ago, the Lakers forward surpassed 38,000 career points and are on his way to breaking Kareem Abdul Jabbar’s all-time highest point-scoring record. As of this writing, James is 158 points behind Kareem as the all-time leading point scorer in the history of the NBA.

Meanwhile, Kevin Durant, a Brooklyn Nets forward, praised LeBron James highly for his two-decades-long career. Moreover, Durant also shut down the opinion of LeBron being a pass-first guy. Kevin himself is a basketball legend and still ranks LeBron James above him, owing to his career numbers and longevity. Further, Kevin passed some strong statements, which are very hard to turn a blind eye to.

Ahead of the Lakers vs. Nets matchup on January 30, 2023, the injury update of Kevin Durant has upset the fans. Kevin, who is out due to a sprain, is progressing but will have to be re-evaluated in two weeks. That means Kevin will not feature in the game against LeBron James-led Lakers. However, an unusual fact is doing rounds on social media after the update announcement.

According to a Twitter user, if Kevin Durant and LeBron James do not face each other this season, it will mark the fifth anniversary of their last matchup. Kevin and LeBron last faced other in December 2018. Since then, the duo has not come face to face. Moreover, the matchup on January 30 will be their last of the season. Hence the only window now remains the finals which look highly unlikely considering the situation of the Lakers at the moment. The LA Lakers sit on the 13th spot at the Western Conference points table with 23-26.
