Juan Soto and Aaron Judge, two of the most powerful entities in MLB, teamed up for the New York Yankees this season as the front office traded the generational talent from the San Diego Padres during the off-season in a risky yet blockbuster exchange package.

It’s risky because Juan Soto arrived on just a one-year guarantee as he is eligible to enter free agency next off-season. Of course, it’s evident that Soto unleashed his full potential in the Bronx this year and is set to receive a record-breaking contract in free agency. While the Yankees are also in the mix, the process could potentially hurt the captain’s ego.

Juan Soto is set to deliver his career-best season in the Yankee uniform this year, as batting with Aaron Judge has brought out his true potential. He is hitting .305 with 34 home runs, 87 RBIs, and a whopping 1.047 OPS. Having said that, the nuclear numbers will help the generational talent secure one of the most expensive contracts in MLB history. Meanwhile, the New York Yankees are also equally in pursuit despite the expensive price tag. Hal Steinbrenner confirmed his intentions of proposing a mid-season extension offer to Soto. However, fans raised concerns about the side effects of Soto’s groundbreaking deal with captain Aaron Judge.

Many believe that signing Juan Soto in an expensive contract compared to Aaron Judge could hurt the latter’s ego as he is the biggest name in New York. However, Bret Boone, former three-time All-Star MLB slugger and Yankee manager Aaron Boone’s brother, opined that Judge is not greedy for money. He built his fortune while signing the $360 million extension contract and became the captain of the New York Yankees. He is the face of the franchise and a perfect successor of former Yankee legend Derek Jeter. Hence, face value and respect matter the most to Judge. “He got his money, and whatever Juan Soto makes, I’m sure he will be happy for him,” Bret said on the Sportsnet podcast. Needless to say, Judge is a team player and a kind soul at heart. His priority has always been the Yanks, and if Soto’s extension improves the roster, he’ll be up for it.

Juan Soto Roots For Judge To Surpass Home Run Record

Aaron Judge became the fastest MLB slugger to reach a career 300 home runs after he slammed a three-run moonshot against the White Sox on Wednesday. However, Juan Soto, his Yankees teammate, has set high hopes for the captain. He expects Judge to break the all-time MLB home run record.

The record for most home run hit in MLB currently belongs to Barry Bonds. He finished his illustrious career with 762 home runs, while Judge has eight years left on his current Yankees contract to go from 300 to 762. “I think he’s the guy who can literally break the record. He’s been showing up all the time,” Juan Soto said.
