Early Life!

Joaquin Niemann was born on November 7, 1998, in Santiago, Chile. His praents are Jorge Niemann, Pamela Zenteno. Joaquin has a sibling named Luckas Niemann. Joaquin\’s love for golf began when he was a mere toddler of just two years of age when his father got plastic golf clubs for him. Joaquin spent most of his early childhood along with his family in his hometown of Santiago.

According to his interviews, he learned the game on the range at Club de Polo y Equitacion San Cristobal. He recalls taking a 40-yard shot with real equipment at the age of four and striking his grandma in the leg during a family BBQ at home. 

Joquin initially wanted to go to the University of South Florida to complete his higher education. However, winning the Mark H. McCormack Medal in 2017 and becoming the top player in amateur golf changed his course.

Joaquin Neimann began his Amerture golf career in the latter half of the 2010s. The Chilean golfer reigned as the number one Amerture player from May 2017 to April 2018 for a total of 44 weeks. Meanwhile, in 2017 Neimann was awarded Mark H. McCormack Medal because he was the world\’s top-ranked amateur golf player. In the next year, 2018, Joaquin got the entry at US Open. 

2018 was also the year when Niemann claimed the Latin America Amateur Championship. This earned him a place in the Masters\’ Tournament. Also, he finished at sixth in his maiden professional competition, i.e., 2018\’s Valero Texas Open. Meanwhile, Joaquin achieved a Special Temporary Member Status on the PGA in the same year. 

He became Chile\’s first PGA Tour victory and the youngest champion on the international PGA Tour since 1923. Niemann has represented Chile\’s International team in the 2019\’s President Cup Gold championship. The tournament was played in December 2019 at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Australia. Patrick Cantlay defeated Niemann in his Sunday singles match.

Additionally, in July 2021, Joaquin, Cameron Davis, and Troy Merritt shared first place at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. Niemann\’s first bogey of the week on the first playoff hole resulted in his elimination. In February 2022, Tiger Woods hosted the Genesis Invitational, and he took first place. He finished the competition two strokes ahead of Collin Morikawa and Cameron Young, scoring 19 under par.
