It has been a season for the ages for New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge. All through, Judge has been smashing home runs for fun. He crossed Babe Ruth records of 60 Home Runs in a season seven games ago. However, since then, it was a dry patch for Judge until Wednesday. In the game against Toronto Blue Jays, Judge finally ended his slump equaling Roger Maris\’ record at the iconic Roger center.

Aaron Judge Equals Roger Maris With 61st HR!

New York Yankees star slugger Aaron Judge finally hit his 61st home run against the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday. Left-hander Tim Mayza\’s seventh pitch of the at-bat resulted in a two-run bomb with a full count. The wall in the left-center field was blasted over by Judge\’s screamed pass. A night after the Yankees won the AL East, Judge started as the designated hitter and hit first. Yankees\’ Roger Maris established the record for the AL in 1961, and Aaron Judge\’s home run matched that mark after decades.

After hitting with Mayza\’s full-count, belt-high sinker, Aaron Judge acted without hesitation. He threw his bat and hurried out of the box as he watched the path of his 117.4 mph drive. A star cast projection that was 394 feet from home plate landed there in 3.8 seconds. It was Judge\’s most powerful home run of the year. Apparently, a protracted dry spell for Judge was over. Between home runs, he had played 35 plate appearances. Before hitting the 61st home run, Judge had a 5-for-21 streak with a 13-walk streak, including a 4-walk night on Tuesday.

As the outfielder circled the bases, Aaron Judge was greeted by a standing ovation from the home fans. Aaron\’s mother, Patty, was also present in the crowd and got emotional. She watched the accomplishment while seated close to Roger Maris Jr. On a memorable night in Toronto, the Yankees defeated the Blue Jays 8-3. As \”All-Rise\” attempts to beat the record No. 62, they will now return to Yankee Stadium on Friday.

Talking to the YES network after the game, Judge expressed his delight after achieving the milestone. He stated, \”It\’s an incredible honor, and there\’s a lot of emotions. It took me a little longer than I wanted to but getting a chance to add two runs on the board help out Gerrit Cole get another win. It\’s something pretty special.\” Meanwhile, after tying Roger\’s record, Aaron will now be eyeing to break it and become the first ever player to hit 62 Home Runs in American League East.
