Aaron Judge has not been at his best in the last 15 games. For the majority of the 2024 regular season, the captain of the New York Yankees has been dominating the league. He was on pace to reach the 63-homer mark this year. That would mean the captain was on the verge of breaking the American League record yet again. Anyway, the record belongs to him for hitting 62 home runs in 2022. He won the American League MVP in 2022 for breaking the record. Many fans believed that the California native could go on to break the all-time Barry Bonds’ record of most home runs in a season.

But this season has taken a detour for Aaron Judge, as it seems, as he is on his way to achieve an unwanted record. Very soon he can record his career-high home run drought. Moreover, fans are afraid that the Yankees captain is going to finish the ongoing regular season exactly the way he started it. Everybody remembers the early season slump of the 2022 AL MVP in April. But Aaron Judge is not losing hope yet.

Previously, the Yankees manager said that the captain has been enjoying a “Historic season.” Aaron Boone was right about that. But the California native is also in the middle of the 15 game homerless slump. It has been the longest homer drought in Judge’s career. Fans in the Bronx wonder how can the 2022 AL MVP get out of that situation. After all, it will cost the team dearly when they will start their postseason journey next season. Previously, the captain has been through a situation where he could not handle pressure. For instance, in the 2022 playoffs, he went into a slump after enjoying a record breaking regular season. He got the AL Home run record but could not lead the team into the World Series.

Can he change that habit this year? On Wednesday, the Yankees won 4-3 against the Kansas City Royals. It was a close encounter but a walk-off by Jazz Chisholm Jr. sealed the deal for the NY side as they won the series. Later, in the post-game interview, as per the New York Post, Aaron Judge mentioned that he is feeling fine and the results are going to be there, after all, he said, “It’s just baseball.” Nevertheless, fans wonder if the captain is healthy after colliding in Washington into the center field wall.

The Yankees Manager Believes The Captain Will Soon Start Rolling

Some fans argued if it is the Paw Patrol curse or whatnot. But the truth is that Judge’s slump began after he slammed into the wall in Washington to save a sure shot home run after Andres Chaparro hit it really well. Later, Aaron Judge, as well as the team’s manager have told the New York Post that he suffered only some usual bumps and bruises that a player gets while playing into September. Otherwise, the 2022 AL MVP said, “I’m healthy.” On the other hand, Aaron Boone said, “It is just hitting.”

The manager tried to point out that the captain is putting together a historic season. Moreover, Boone said that they have seen this type of slump before like in April and in the last couple of weeks when Judge has not been dominating like he usually does. Nonetheless, the Yankees skipper added, “Judge will soon get rolling, I’m confident about that.”
