In a recent game against the San Francisco Giants, Giancarlo Stanton, the New York Yankees’ designated hitter, hit a home run that left fans and analysts alike in awe.

Giancarlo Stanton, who has always been known for his prodigious power, had been struggling at the plate for quite a while. Since joining the New York Yankees in 2018, he has battled injuries and inconsistency, leading some fans and analysts to question his worth toward the massive contract he signed with the team. However, this year, the DH is here to make a difference.

After starting two games in the right field, Giancarlo Stanton, the Yankees one of the most powerful hitter, started as a designated hitter. This year, Stanton has a point to prove, as his place in the team is under the radar. Hence, he did just that. He proved a point and established his dominance. The hit in the third innings of Sunday’s matchup will go down as one of the best in the outfielder’s career history.

During the third inning of the New York Yankees vs. San Francisco Giants Sunday’s matchup, Ross Stripling threw a slider at the bottom of the strike zone. Giancarlo Stanton, the DH on the plate, got the ball on his radar and sent it over to the moon. He struck the ball at 117.8 mph and slammed a monstrous 485-foot home run over to the center field. The two-run homer elevated the Yankees tally by 3-0. Moreover, the homer went down as one of the longest in the DH’s career, only second to the 504-foot home run he struck in 2016.

The reaction to Stanton’s home run was immediate and enthusiastic. Fans in the stadium stood on their feet as soon as the ball left the bat, and social media remained flooded with reactions and highlights of the blast. Stanton himself was relatively low-key in his reaction to the home run. After rounding the bases and crossing home plate, he exchanged high-fives with his teammates and then made his way back to the dugout. For the DH, the hit came in as redemption, as an error on his part led to the Yankees’ humiliating loss against the Giants on Saturday.

Jhony Brito Registers A Dream Major League Debut

Meanwhile, apart from Giancarlo Stanton, the starter, Jhony Brito, stole the show completely on Sunday. He received an opportunity to make his major league debut after a successful spring session. Moreover, the pitcher made it count as he bossed the game. He ended the day with 6 strikeouts in 5 shutout innings and allowed just two hits and one walk.

However, despite a strong start, Jhony Brito was assigned to the minor league earlier today. Yankees skipper, Aaron Boone, confirmed that the team does not deem the necessity of a fifth starter. Hence, Brito will have to wait a little longer for more opportunities. Nonetheless, the thrower made a good case for himself and will likely receive ample chances in the latter half of the tournament.
