Red Bull Racing is the only racing outfit on the F1 grid to be running two teams simultaneously. With the Bulls being the primary team, Visa Cash App RB (AlphaTauri) is the sister team where the outfit’s junior program drivers are tested with a view to a future promotion to the main team.
However, with the drivers market unusually active at this time of the year, Red Bull Racing is forced to make substantial changes to its driving lineup for the 2025 season and beyond. Moreover, recent information coming from the team’s senior official certainly suggests that a change or rather changes are inevitable.
Red Bull Likely To Drop Sergio Perez & Daniel Ricciardo Next Year!
With engine regulation change approaching in 2026, Red Bull Racing is in a fix to decide on the best suitable driver lineup. Moreover, the unprecedented movement in the driver market has further pushed the team to make swift decisions. While team principal Christian Horner intends to take his time, senior advisor Helmut Makro has already started to make moves. As recently confirmed by Marko, the drink-based outfit offered a deal to Carlos Sainz to replace Sergio Perez in the second seat from the 2025 season and beyond. Checo’s contract will run out by the end of the season, and despite a strong season, Marko’s comments suggest that he will be replaced regardless. However, Checo won’t be the only one to get dropped next year.
If rumors are to be believed, Red Bull’s sister team, Visa Cash App RB (AlphaTauri), has guaranteed a seat to reserve driver Liam Lawson for the 2025 season. That means that to accommodate Lawson, either Daniel Ricciardo or Yuki Tsunoda will have to make the ultimate sacrifice. Notably, Lawson filled in for Ricciardo in 2023 after the latter broke his wrist in a crash. He instantly fetched points, which left the Red Bull camp pretty impressed. Moreover, if the team fails to provide a seat for Liam next year, the junior driver plans to seek a home elsewhere. That would strip the Bulls of a promising young talent. Therefore, by all means, Daniel Ricciardo is likely to get axed for Liam Lawson in 2025, and accordingly, the Bulls 2025 season lineup could consist of Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz, Yuki Tsunoda, and Liam Lawson.
Christian Horner-Helmut Marko’s Contrasting Tale Leaves Fans Confused!
In a major revelation, Red Bull senior advisor Helmut Marko confirmed that his team is in touch with impending free agent Carlos Sainz. The Bulls tried to offer Sainz a deal for the second seat. But they were unable to match Audi’s alleged lucrative offer, which apparently led to a stalemate, confirmed Marko.
However, hours later, Red Bull team principal Christian Horner refuted Marko’s claim by saying that his team was not in a hurry to replace Checo just yet. He added that rumors related to Carlos Sainz are purely speculative and hold no ground in reality. They still believe in Sergio Perez to turn things around this year and possibly contest for an extension contract.
