The New York Yankees started the 2024 regular season better than expected. They were winning back-to-back series, and the offense and defense were performing decently well. Moreover, the combination of Juan Soto and Aaron Judge was working miracles for the Bronx Bombers. For most of the first two months of the 2024 season, the NY side was enjoying a healthy lead over others in the American League East division. However, since mid-June, things started to fall apart, as the Pinstripes went on to record 6-16. Later, early in July, the NY side had a 4-8 record.

That was the time when the Yankees dropped to second spot in the AL East behind the Baltimore Orioles. Moreover, the NY team started to get back to winning ways after the Midsummer Classic. It took time, but the Bronx Bombers managed to get back on top for a while. They stayed on top of the AL East for most of the month of August. However, in the last three series, the Pinstripes have been through another major slump. It is not a good sign right before the playoffs.

The questions are arising on a dip in confidence of the Yankees all of a sudden. This week, the disappointing stretch of the Pinstripes continued against the 2023 World Series winners. Nonetheless, Aaron Judge dismissed any such rumors regarding a dip in confidence, as per MLB.com. Just outside of the playoff picture, the 27-time World Series winners have been going through a three-series losing streak. On Wednesday night, Aaron Boone’s side dropped a 10-6 defeat against the Texas Rangers. This loss at Globe Life Field was the sixth defeat in their last eight outings. Now, the Bronx Bombers have lost three straight series against the Washington Nationals, St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers. But MLB.com quoted Aaron Judge, saying, “A couple of games did not go our way, it went back and forth. Things like that will happen.”

Moreover, the Yankees captain said that they were, of course, not happy about it. But it is also important to remember, as Judge noted, that the team is fighting for the division and a lot at stake. Hence, every player must keep trusting each other and believe that things will start going their way soon. Moreover, Judge answered the question regarding dip in confidence, saying, “Not at all. We are just looking forward to the next big series in Chicago.” The 2022 AL MVP mentioned the important thing to do is to keep moving forward.

“We Must Start Playing Better Than We Are At Present,” Claims Manager

Aaron Boone said after Wednesday’s game that one thing he really admires about this group is they keep playing until its over. But right now, only 22 games are remaining. Moreover, the skipper said that it is high time they start playing a whole lot better. Despite having chances to win all the last three series, they lost back to back. But the manager is like the team knows that they must play better if they want to reach the ‘Big Dance.’

Anyway, Aaron Boone said it is essential to take a good use of the off day and rest up a little bit. But Boone said that they must “Get after it at Wrigley.” He expects the team to be better than this. Despite Juan Soto hitting a two-run homer, the offense was not strong enough to beat the Rangers on Wednesday.
