The Formula One legend and one of the most successful drivers, Lewis Hamilton, will be living his childhood dream next year. The most accomplished racer to grace the circuit had a dram to don the iconic red-yellow racing suit. His dream came true earlier this year when he signed a deal with Ferrari, which shocked everyone.

However, Mercedes and the Scuderia live contrasting lives. While the Silver Arrows reemerge as a dominant force, the Prancing Horse is missing in the mist. Although, the Italian crew had a perfect start to the season and consistently competed for the top spots. Recently, the SF24 has faced a series of challenges, putting the team in a slump during the past few race weekends. Despite the differences in performance, the ex-Haas boss gave a stellar performance to Lewis Hamilton in the Ferrari squad.

Former F1 team boss Guenther Steiner is optimistic about Hamilton’s Ferrari move. The Ex-Haas leader is confident the Maranello squad would help Hamilton extend his legacy. In a recent media interaction, Steiner envisioned a scenario where the seven-time world champion consistently wins with Ferrari, just as he has with Mercedes. The F1 pundit claimed it to be a heroic moment for the Briton, adding another gem to his F1 crown. While Steiner considers Hamilton an F1 legend, his legacy would multiply if the Brit could drive Ferrari to a world title. The 59-year-old motorsport expert suggested that one of Hamilton’s motivations for switching teams was the allure of winning a world title with the iconic Italian squad.

Moreover, Steier feels Hamilton is confident enough to achieve this feat. He is in the perfect space to break Schumacher’s record and etch his name on the pedestal of motorsport. Earlier, when Lewis decided to shift from Brackley to Maranelo, the two squads were at opposite ends in terms of performance. However, Mercedes moved ahead with its ambitious upgrades as the season progressed. On the other hand, Ferrari seems to have hit the reverse gear, as they cannot take long strides. Therefore, Hamilton might be rethinking his decision, especially with the imminent power unit regulations of 2026.

This Is Formula1

However, Guenther Steiner feels otherwise, as he extends his aforementioned point. Discussing Hamilton’s decision, Steiner noted that the driver is fully aware of all the possible scenarios and understands there’s no turning back.

Therefore, the Briton would focus on the upcoming opportunities instead of regretting the decision. Thus, Steiner suggested Hamilton extract a similar performance from Ferrari as he did from the German Marque.
