Fans at the Kauffman Stadium weren’t rooting for the New York Yankees as the Kansas City Royals were taking the field for Game 3 of the American League Division Series (ALDS) on Wednesday night. However, the Yanks were well versed with the away challenges and hence came out all guns blazing.

Surrounded by a booing crowd, Giancarlo Stanton slammed a go-ahead home run in the eighth inning to power the New York Yankees to a 3-2 victory, thus taking a 2-1 lead in the five-game series. Meanwhile, Jazz Chisholm had a separate incident with the Kansas City fans as he poked fun at them for booing him during Game 3.

Jazz Chisholm Jr, the New York Yankees third baseman, was not a favorite at Kansas City’s Kauffman Stadium on Wednesday. The boos from Royals fans were loud and persistent following his comments after Game 2, where he stated that Kansas City “just got lucky” when they tied the series 1-1. However, Chisholm wasn’t shy about responding to the reception. He quipped to reporters, “I ain’t ever seen anybody boo a bum,” showing his confidence despite the crowd’s hostility. Royals fans may have been more focused on players like Aaron Judge or Juan Soto before the series, but Chisholm’s remarks made him a focal point of their frustration, especially after the Game 3 loss.

That being said, in Game 3, Jazz Chisholm didn’t have a major impact, going 0-for-4 at the plate. Giancarlo Stanton took center stage for the New York Yankees, going 3-for-5 with two RBIs, including the go-ahead home run in the eighth inning that helped secure New York’s 3-2 win. While Kansas City’s fans jeered Chisholm, Stanton delivered when it mattered most, and the Yanks regained home-field advantage in the American League Division Series (ALDS).

Meanwhile, the Royals now face elimination in Game 4 on Thursday. If they lose, the vocal crowd’s effort to rattle Jazz Chisholm will have been in vain. If they win, a decisive Game 5 awaits back in New York on Saturday. One way or the other, the ALDS series has begun to heat up, and it’s a golden opportunity for the Bronx Bombers to make a statement before they leave Kansas City after Thursday.

The Kansas City Royals have pushed the New York Yankees in their American League Division Series (ALDS) more than many expected. However, after a hard-fought Game 3 loss, they now face elimination. Despite being in a tough spot, Royals star Bobby Witt Jr. remains optimistic about his team’s chances to bounce back.

Witt Jr, who has struggled at the plate in his first postseason (1-for-13), is confident his team can win two straight games and take the series. “I’ve seen us win two games a lot of times, so that’s all we have to do,” Witt Jr said. That being said, if Witt and the Royals can’t step up, their season may end sooner than expected, with the Yankees poised to advance to their 19th ALCS.
