Djokovic\’s Coach Ivenisevic Predicts The Serb Will Win At Wimbledon 2022 After Failing In Paris!

Djokovic

Novak Djokovic missed out on a great opportunity of equalizing Rafael Nadal\’s record of 21 Grand Slam titles at the Rolland Garros. The world no. 1 was considered the favorite to win his second title in rows in Paris as he came off an Italian Open win before the major tournament. However, the Serb faltered against his greatest rival, Rafael Nadal, in the quarterfinals. The King of Clay went on with a good start and won the first set. Nole continued to fight as he won the second set and lost the third. The 35-year-old was leading by 5-2 in the second set as Nadal battled hard to win and close the game in the fourth set eventually.

Djokovic\’s coach Goran Ivanisevic was not too pleased with how things turned out for Nole in Paris. However, the Croatian coach thinks that the defending champion will once again win on the grass court in Wimbledon this year. Djokovic still needs to get in a peak mental and physical state before heading to the SW19. This is because he missed out on plenty of action early in the season due to his stand against COVID-19 vaccination.

Ivanisevic Confident About Nole\’s Victory At Wimbledon 2022

Djokovic has won six Grand Slam titles at Wimbledon. Not just that, he is considered one of the toughest players to face on grass courts like Nadal is on the clay. So, the Serb will look to win his 21st title at the All England Tennis Club as major players like Nadal, Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, and Alexander Zverev are set to miss this year\’s tournament.

Nole\’s coach shared that the Serb does not have much of a choice but to recover quickly. Goran feels that Djokovic is the biggest favorite at Wimbledon, just like Rafa was in Paris. He just needs to rest well and prepare for the upcoming tournament physically and mentally. Ivanisevic further added, \”I am sure that he can do it, and he will win Wimbledon. I have a good feeling about that. He needs to focus on grass now.\”

Nole & Ivanisevic

Meanwhile, Novak is yet to announce his grass court schedule to play some warm-up tournaments before the major tournament. However, Nole has come to Wimbledon without any grass practice in the past and managed to win the tournament. Thus, the Serb\’s coach was not too worried if Djokovic chose to miss Queen\’s and Halle.

Talking about Nole\’s schedule, Goran said that the key thing for the Serb would be to recover mentally. He stated that Novak is a genius with a different mindset than most. He has the ability to bounce back in lesser time than other players. However, Djokovic still needs to come back strong and figure out some things. Ivanisevic added, \”He has overcome tough losses in the past. And I am completely certain that he will be ready for Wimbledon.\”
