They say when you are at your lowest, there is nowhere to go but up. This has been the case with Russell Westbrook this season. After a disappointing last season, the 2017 MVP was the target of criticism from all directions. There were even questions about his place on the Lakers\’ side. However, Westbrook\’s past few games have been a story of revival, resurgence, and an upturn for the point guard. And fans\’ faith is also back in Westbrook.

Fans Shower Praise On Russell Westbrook!

On Friday night, the Los Angeles Lakers clashed with Utah Jazz for their eighth encounter of the season. Jazz came out on top at the conclusion of the game, defeating the Lakers by 116-130.  Last night, the Los Angeles Lakers snapped a fantastical two-game winning run. However, Westbrook\’s heroics continued to garner media attention as the evening\’s big story. Russell Westbrook was the Lakers\’ highest scorer, with 28 points off the bench. The first half of his shooting was virtually flawless.

The basketball community believed that Russell Westbrook would never regain his peak form while wearing a LA jersey. The Los Angeles Lakers appear to have finally made a turn for the better. Leaving the sidelines and embracing a new appearance. After recovering from his injuries, Russell has been on fire. And he again showed it last night against the Utah Jazz, with flashes of his previous MVP self.

Westbrook\’s disastrous start is linked to his narrative with the Lakers. According to the former MVP, he may have had his worst season in a very long time last year. The nine-time All-Star was becoming a laughingstock across the league, and Laker fans had had enough. Additionally, it didn\’t appear like the new season altered how NBA fans saw Westbrook. Russell Westbrook appears to be enjoying the game again after coming off the bench. He played his greatest game of the season last night, and MVP shouts could be heard throughout Los Angeles.

These kinds of moments are what make sports so unique. There is always a chance for atonement, and Westbrook deserves all the support the Lakers\’ supporters are now giving him. Fans typically admire players that put up a lot of effort in addition to playing well, so he is getting a lot of praise for this. For Westbrook, hearing the cheers for him and the MVP shouts from a crowd that had been pleading for Rob Pelinka\’s life to move him a week before would have been quite meaningful.
