The New York Yankees had a great start to the ongoing season. It was looking like the team had moved on from the failure of the 2023 season. But the 82-80 record is still a very fresh wound to the players who were part of the franchise last season. Anyway, the NY side looked so good at the beginning of the 2024 season that they were the first franchise to win 50 games this year before any other team. It was going great as the duo of Juan Soto and Aaron Judge was performing at their best. But then things had to slow down at some point as the Yankees faced a slump once again.

In the previous few games, the Bronx Bombers have been losing consistently. They are going through a tough situation with ongoing struggles. On Tuesday, the Yankees faced the Tampa Bay Rays. They lost 5-3 to the home team. According to Pinstripesnation.com, Aaron Boone discussed the team’s ongoing struggles with the media on Tuesday before and after the game.

The manager of the NY side told the media that it sure feels terrible when the team goes through these phases. Moreover, the skipper believes managers and players need to be a little sick to stay part of this game. That might help them to weather any kind of tough situations they have to go through at any given point of a season. Adding to that, Boone said nobody likes these kinds of bumps on the road. During these tough times, the manager thinks it is essential to find ways to weather it a little bit better, which the Yankees need to do as soon as possible. Over the last three years whenever the team had been going through a bit of a rough patch, Boone has reiterated the line, “It is all right there in front of us.”

The Yankees Faithful have become quite familiar with that mantra in the last few seasons. Aaron Boone took the blame for the “Defeatism” attitude of the NY side in the last few games. Moreover, the Yankees manager mentioned that no matter what, they must get after it as they want to run out every time to a big lead. However, Boone also thinks that the ideal thing to do at this point is to stay focused and persistent. He believes the team must concentrate to string together quality at-bats and on playing well.

The Manager Tries To Find Some Positives From Tuesday’s Game

According to YES Network, Aaron Boone told the media that it is never easy to play from behind. However, he also said that it is not right to look at it that way. Boone believes the team tried to give themselves a chance by getting a lead. Then, they put some guys out there. Anyway, they could not win eventually. But the manager mentioned the positives from the game against the Rays where “Benny had a big swing that put us right in the game.”

Moreover, Boone praised DJ LeMahieu and Juan Soto for good at-bats. Then, they had a chance to get Aaron Judge to the plate. Hence, the manager feels, “The bats were OK.” Since June 13, the Yankees had been through the worst MLB record with 6-17. Perhaps Boone is trying to ignore the team’s march to another disaster.
