The New York Yankees front office traded Miami Marlins outfielder/infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr at the mid-season trade deadline with a view to fix third base issues. DJ LeMahieu wasn’t in his right mind after a foot injury delay, and hence, Chisholm was penciled at third base, a position he rarely played before in the majors.

However, Jazz Chisholm Jr turned out to be a revelation for the New York Yankees. He produced an awe-inspiring debut with four home runs in four games to script franchise history. Even in defense, the versatile infielder is making himself feel at home at third base dirt.

Jazz Chisholm Looking Forward For More Reps At Third Base!

In his extensive major league career, the New York Yankees’ newest roster addition, Jazz Chisholm Jr, had played only center field, shortstop, and second base. However, the front office made it crystal clear to Jazz that they were seeking a third-base solution, and the latter embraced the challenges gracefully. In nine games played at third base so far, Chisholm Jr has yet to commit an error. Not only that but as and when the season progresses, the slugger is making himself more and more comfortable in the infield dirt. “I just feel like when I’m on the dirt, I feel like it’s me again,” Chisholm said in an interview. Moreover, since third base is close to shortstop, he often feels familiar with that spot.

Having said that, Jazz Chisholm’s athleticism and adaptability have been evident as he has handled the transition with a level of poise that has impressed both fans and coaches. His natural agility, combined with a strong work ethic, has allowed him to make several key defensive plays that have already had a positive impact on the team’s performance. Offensively, Chisholm has also started strong, contributing timely hits and showcasing the power and speed that made him an attractive target for the New York Yankees. Also, the Yanks coaching staff has been supportive of Chisholm’s development at third base, with manager Aaron Boone working closely with him to refine his defensive skills. Overall, as Jazz Chisholm continues to settle into his role with the Yanks, his versatility and growing comfort at third base are expected to play a crucial role in the team’s postseason push.

DJ LeMahieu Is Proving Useful Again To Yankees

Meanwhile, veteran third baseman DJ LeMahieu is witnessing a resurgence after an ill start to the season marred by a foot injury. After an extensive slump that led to DFA speculations, LeMahieu recorded a six-RBI night against the Phillies last week and followed it up with a walk-off hit at Yankee Stadium.

DJ LeMahieu also delivered 2 RBIs in Yankees 8-2 loss against the Angels in Game 2 of the doubleheader. The veteran shut down his critics, saying that he’s still got what it takes to succeed in the major league. He is confident to have more reps and is looking forward to contributing to the New York Yankees’ success this season.
