Juan Soto has been the best thing that happened to the New York Yankees last offseason. The way the 2023 season ended for the Bronx Bombers, disappointment filled the Yankee Stadium among the die-hard fans. They did not know what to expect from the 2024 season. After all, the team could not make the postseason for the first time since 2016. They finished fourth in the American League East division with a horrible 82-80 record. Moreover, it was their worst season in the last 30 years.

On top of that, key players were on the Injured List, especially when Aaron Judge missed 35 games on the trot due to a torn ligament in his toe that messed things up really badly. After all, the Bronx Bombers did not have another superstar slugger besides Aaron Judge on their 40-man roster. That’s why the front office made some significant changes in the offseason. None were more impactful than the addition of Juan Soto. In the ongoing regular season, the Dominican superstar has been the most impactful hitter for the Yankees. The fans have already been in love with him. They keep chanting “MVP” when it has been just 51 games so far.

Juan Soto Believes Those “MVP” Chants Are Way Too Early

After 51 games into the regular season, it is clear that the Bronx loves Soto. They want the 25-year-old superstar to wear the iconic pinstripe uniform for the rest of his career. It is not just the fans but also the owner, Hal Steinbrenner, who thinks Soto should be in the Bronx for the rest of his career. Now, what is he going to do? Everybody will know after the next offseason. Meanwhile, there is no doubt that Juan Soto is the most favorite to win the American League MVP this year after the first 51 games. But the latest chant of MVP for Soto came along on Wednesday at the Yankee Stadium. The Dominican superstar hit two home runs against the Seattle Mariners in Game 3.

It helped the Yankees win 7-3 and make the series 1-2 for them. Later, in the post-game interview, Juan Soto mentioned that it is definitely fine but he thinks it is way too early. He appreciated the fans coming in large numbers to show their love and support. Moreover, Juan Soto said, “It’s fun to see those fans out there.” Then, he talked about his great start as a Yankee. He added that he is enjoying every part of this phase because no one knows when such phase stops lasting. Hence, Juan Soto noted, “You do try to enjoy every moment and soak it all in.”
