The New York Yankees had a successful run in the 2024 MLB season as they finished as World Series runners up after getting beaten by LA Dodgers in the final series. Still, coming from a playoff fall out in 2023, to advance all the way to the World Series was a heroic effort.

Meanwhile, the catalyst of a successful season was none other than the dynamic duo of Aaron Judge and Juan Soto. Two of the most celebrated hitters in the league delivered a career-best season, and as a result, they were honored by MLB in the recent Silver Slugger Awards list.

The New York Yankees capped off an exceptional 2024 season with Aaron Judge and Juan Soto receiving American League Silver Slugger Awards, recognizing their stellar offensive performances. This prestigious accolade is awarded to players who have excelled offensively at each position, and both Judge and Soto have proven to be offensive powerhouses, each dominating in the outfield category. Aaron Judge, the Yankees’ captain, delivered a historic season, cementing his reputation as one of the premier sluggers in Major League Baseball. Leading the majors in home runs, RBI, and OPS, Judge posted an extraordinary .322/.458/.701 slash line with 58 home runs and 144 RBI. This Silver Slugger award marks Judge’s fourth in his eight-year career, adding another accolade to his remarkable legacy in New York.

Juan Soto, meanwhile, made a resounding impact in his debut season with the Yankees, showcasing his trademark plate discipline alongside newfound power. Soto hit a career-high 41 home runs, accompanied by 109 RBI and an AL-best 128 runs scored. His disciplined eye at the plate was reflected in his impressive 119/129 strikeout-to-walk ratio, finishing the season with a .288/.419/.569 slash line. At just 26 years old, Soto earned his fifth Silver Slugger, joining an elite company with Mike Trout as one of the only players to win five Silver Sluggers before turning 26. Notably, Judge and Soto remain in contention for the AL MVP award, competing against Kansas City Royals’ Bobby Witt Jr. The Baseball Writers’ Association of America (BBWAA) will announce the MVP results on November 21, 2024, with both Yankees stars eager to cap their incredible season with the league’s highest individual honor.

Besides Aaron Judge and Juan Soto, the New York Yankees’ lineup was strong throughout the season, winning the AL Silver Slugger team award as well, thanks to contributions across the roster. New York led the American League in fWAR (33.7) and wRC+ (117) and topped the majors with 237 home runs, outpacing division rivals like the Baltimore Orioles.

Their team-wide success fueled a postseason run that ended with a hard-fought World Series appearance against the Los Angeles Dodgers, who took the NL Silver Slugger team award. That being said, with an award-winning offense, the Bronx Bombers set a high bar for future seasons, fueling expectations for a continued championship pursuit.
