Formula 1

Lewis Hamilton finally lifted the weight of not winning a race. It had been a long wait for the Briton, who endured a rough patch for almost 945 days. The British GP witnessed a masterclass by Hamilton as he went past everyone on a wet track.

While the victory was sweet as a nectar, it might leave Hamilton with plenty of stinging doubts. Until now, Hamilton was struggling to perform due to the lackluster W15. However, the Mercedes team has emerged as a new force to reckon with, as they’re the only team other than Red Bull to win two consecutive races in the past year.

After a couple of deserted seasons, where winning felt like a distant dream, Lewis Hamilton finally returned. The ground effect era came as a harbinger of misfortune, as irrespective of how hard he tried, it seemed impossible to win a race. However, Mercedes and its technical team have worked endlessly to deliver a flawless W15. The car, which was once the epitome of failure, is now running like a thunderbolt on the tracks. While the Silver Arrows are excited, Hamilton might have mixed feelings. The Briton decided to switch to the Ferrari after a shocking revelation. This was a shocker for the entire paddock, including Toto Wolff. The 39-year-old legendary racer was on a quest for his record-breaking eighth world title. Thus, he signed a contract with the Maranello squad, hoping they would offer him a fast car.

However, as Mercedes is resurging, Ferrari seems to have lost its charm. The team, which was giving a tough fight to Red Bull, is looking vulnerable. Even during the British GP, the Prancing Horses were the fourth-fastest team, and Charles Leclerc had to lap around on medium tyres. Moreover, the SF24 is encountering some balance issues, which are transitioning to the outcomes. As a result, while Silverstone GP gave Hamilton a reason to celebrate, it might also force him to reconsider his move.

Seven-Time World Champion Might Regret Leaving Mercedes

On the other hand, the Mercedes team is in charge. The technical team has finally figured out the riddle of W15. The technical head, James Allison, has been the protagonist in this revival, always demonstrating faith in his team.

As a result, the team looks unbeatable and is giving the leader RBR a tough time. Apart from the technical team, both drivers are also performing equally well. Thus, the Brackley-based outfit seems ahead of the Maranello squad, making Hamilton nervous for the future.
