Sir Lewis Hamilton has been winless since 2022, as Mercedes has been unable to provide him with the right car. Moreover, even after two years, the Silver Arrows does not seem sure about how to get the best performance out of the car. The team has had to deal with a lot of problems in the past two years. In 2022, there was the porpoising issue that caused too much bouncing issue. Later, in 2023, the car had a problem with rear downforce. Hamilton kept complaining about the seat position as well. However, in the current and ongoing season, Mercedes seems to have two main problems.

First of all, there is a correlation between the results of the simulation and the results of the on-track performance. Secondly, the W15 car does not perform well in high-speed circuits like the Japanese Grand Prix. After all that’s happening since the start of the 2024 season, it is clear that Lewis Hamilton won’t have the great season he was hoping to have in his final year with the German outfit. But will he get back to the title contention in 2025 when he will start driving for Ferrari?

Recently, Dutch racer Michael Bleekemolen said in an interview with RacingNews365 that it had been a really bad start to the season for the seven-time champion. The Dutch driver believes Hamilton is way past his prime. Moreover, Bleekemolen mentioned, “I don’t really see much point in him anymore.” What will happen when he joins Ferrari, and what can the fans at least expect from him? The Dutch racer said perhaps Lewis Hamilton might end up on the podium once or twice. However, winning his coveted eighth title is looking really like a distant dream now. Bleekemolen mentioned Hamilton winning the eighth World Championship would be great.

But he just does not think Hamilton can pull it off in the following seasons. In fact, the Dutch racer just said “No” regarding Hamilton’s chances of winning the eighth world title. The 74-year-old racer believes Hamilton may had a chance to win his coveted eighth title when he turned 40. But, like the rest of the drivers, Hamilton will have to overcome the biggest hurdle in the current generation’s standout superstar, Max Verstappen. Neither the Mercedes car is helping Lewis Hamilton fulfill his dream, nor the modern-day situation with Red Bull and Max Verstappen dominating the current F1 Motorsport.

Michael Bleekemolen also told that Lewis Hamilton’s prime is over, but that is not the only reason why he won’t win another title. There is also another reason, and that’s Max Verstappen, the current triple-time champion. He is on his way to win his fourth World Championship.

On top of that, Bleekemolen said his countryman is constantly proving that “We don’t have the right car” is nothing but an excuse. After all, Max Verstappen constantly beats Sergio Perez in the same car. What’s that all about? Clearly, Checo does not belong to the same category of the greats that Max surely belongs to.
